Justin Curfman (Curfman is the english version of the German Körfmann, in Dutch "korfmaker") left a small note on SfS's website thanking Reptile71 for promoting FF to the Dutch public, in particular to us humble musiclovers at Musicmeter. I join in laureating Paul, without whom I probably would never ever have heard a single note of FF's music
. Quoting CD Baby; Justin is an awardwinning animator and multimedia artist. I am proud to say, I am also the owner of one of his paintings which he was selling on the net to finance one of his film projects

I was young in the eighties and was then and will always remain in love with post punk and dark wave, supporting every wave artist that does not want to bow his or her head to the big companies, staying underground and independent. I reject any comparison made to U2 as an example of a hardworking and succesful 80-ies band. U2, to my opinion, has been a politically acceptable band in the eyes of the big companies or radio stations, being of Irish origin and, at that time, protesting mainly for the cause of the Irish. English bands like the Sound, New Model Army or Theatre of Hate were marginalized in the 80-ies, and even the darker side of the Cure got deprived of airplay. England was in need of music to reflect a happy, satisfied feel, contrasting the harsh truth of unemployment, Falkland war and strikes.
But that was then, all well before FF's time and happening on another continent. Still, their music is reminiscing the feeling of that era. To me this their second album, Baby Teeth, is of even more of that dark Gothic beauty compared to their first, even more Cure than contemporary Cure. The album surely does not contain one outstanding track that could be a hit single. Nonetheless, for me it's the intrinsic value of the album as a whole that gives it its importance. Justin does sound a bit fragile in the high notes again but the haunting bass drones, hypnotising percussion and somewhat thriving beat makes up for that. The real beauty of Justins voice is revealed in "Your Name in A Stolen Book" when he seems to lower a key and gets mixed more to the front.
Their third album will undoubtedly have more of that style of songs and hence will get a 5* rating. This album for me is worth between 4-4,5*.
