Nu het zo prachtig gelijk staat in deze nu al spannende finale, even de mensen die in de voorgaande rondes eenmaal of vaker gestemd hebben, erop attenderen op dat we inmiddels de finale aan het spelen zijn en als ze nog invloed willen hebben, ze op tijd hun stem uit moeten brengen.

Dames en heren, jongens en meisjes van harte welkom bij The Kinks K.O.!
Deze band heeft altijd wat in de schaduw van de Beatles en de Stones gebivakkeerd maar is toch echt minstens zo goed! De heren begonnen als een echte single band maar hebben later met onder andere 'Something Else by the Kinks', 'The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society' en 'Muswell Hillbillies' toch ook een aantal geweldige albums afgeleverd.
Voor dit spel heb ik nummers gekozen aan de hand van de greatest hits albums, populaire songs op reguliere albums en noteringen in de vaderlandse hitlijsten. 64 stuks vond ik wat weinig, 128 wat veel en daarom ben ik gegaan voor een startlijst van 96 nummers. Van deze 96 heb ik de 32 grootste 'hits' apart genomen en deze hebben de eerste (voor)ronde een zogenaamde bye. Lola is de enige song die twee maal mee speelt. Zowel in originele vorm als in de welbekende live-versie uit 1980 welke vooral bij ons in de lage landen een enorme hit was.
De andere 64 treden in deze startronde wel aan en we spelen volgens het beproefde recept, de winnaar mag nog een rondje mee doen.
