Deze James Brown The Singles serie is voor de liefhebber een goudmijn. Werkelijk alle singles uitgebracht in de betreffende jaren staan erop. Op dit Volume 3 gaat het om de jaren 1964 en 1965. James Brown was een echte singles man hier met 18 tracks per jaar (a/b kanten). Er is met name Rhythm & Blues en Soul te horen op dit volume 3. Het overall niveau hiervan vind ik net wat lager liggen dan de meeste andere volumes, maar er staat meer dan genoeg op om van te genieten. Mijn favoriete nummers hier zijn: Evil, The Things That I Used to Do, Out of the Blue, Out of Sight, Maybe the Last Time, I Don't Care, Try Me, Papa's Got a Brand New Bag, I Got You (I Feel Good) en de live versie van I'll Go Crazy.
