Geweldige compilatie met schitterende nummers van weleer. Deze mocht gewoon niet ontbreken op MusicMeter!

Die ziet er zeker leuk uit: ik heb deze serie uit de jaren '80 en sinds kort ook jaren '70 Nog niet op de site) dus deze hoort daar wel bij. Die van de jaren '90 vind ik erg slecht dus die laat ik voorbij gaan.

Er staan er op deze verzamelaar een groot aaantal heel goede songs van origineel albums en singles die vandag niet zo snel te krijgen zijn. Op de andere kant ontbreken op deze verzamelaar een aantal grote namen. Maar voor iemand die niets of bijna niets uit de jaren 60 heeft is deze verzamelaar een goede begin om kennis met een aantal minder bekende artisten te maken.

Prima verzamelbox met talrijke popklassiekers. De meeste ervan heb ik wel op de CD's van de artiesten zelf, maar het is vooral interessant vanwege de ééndagsvliegen (o.a. 11,13,25,44,58,68,71,76,86,96,109,114,134,136) waarvan een regulier album niet te krijgen is.

Lulu's I'm A Tiger is daarentegen een triest dieptepunt. Hadden ze daarvoor niet beter To Sir With Love kunnen kiezen?

Op mijn versie uit 2003 zijn de geweldige bijdragen van Gene Pitney helaas vervangen. Dus ook hier, net als bij de 70's, is er gerommeld in de tracklist (en helaas geen gunstige).
Er staat een hoop moois tussen maar ook iets te veel van die radio 10 gold classics die ik tot in den treure voorbij hoorde denderen in mijn tienerjaren tijdens diverse vakantiebaantjes.

Grappig: op mijn versie staat Procol Harum met A Salty Dog. Dat vind ik dan weer een geweldige toevoeging. Sterker, Marc Almond covert dit nummer dus ik ken het door en door niet wetende dat het een cover is van deze band.

artiesten zoals stones en beatles e.d. staan zelden op zo'n verzamelaar als dit, das meestal te duur om hun erbij te zetten.
ik was ook helemaal verbaasd dat op greatest hits of the 50's (van deze zelfde serie ) elvis stond met een live versie van that's allright mama,

ik vind dit echt een geweldige compilatie deze en die van the 50's draai ik helemaal grijs (ondanks dat ik 24 ben ) 50's om lekker te relaxen en 60's om lekker te swingen.

beste nummer wat mij betreft is zeker he ain't heavy, he's my brother van the hollies supermooi nummer
