De Palma koos in eerste instantie voor geen score bij de aantiteling. Hierop antwoorde Herrmann:
''No title music? Nothing horrible happens in your picture for the first half hour. You need something to scare them right away. The way you do it, they'll walk out.''
Wie de componist een beetje kent, weet dat hij nogal ''geobsedeerd'' is door een overture aan het begin van een film. Gelukkig kon hij zonder te wijzen naar ''het recht om als componist een overture te schrijven'', een logische redenatie bedenken.
