die Midlake - Roscoe is een meesterwerk 1e klas. Een prachtige hommage aan het origineel, hetgeen al schitterend was. Een enorm melancholisch nummer dat lijkt alsof je het in je kinderjaren al meezong, en je na 20 jaar opnieuw hoort. Sublieme opbouw ook, zet heel mooi de 'mood' alvorens de vocals het plaatje mogen vervolledigen.
En dat is eigenlijk een constante in deze cd: lange intro's die je meevoeren naar een plek waar het nummer dat gaat komen perfect in past. Voor mij is net dat de kracht van BTWS!

De Re-Animation van dat nummer van Tracey Thorn is ook fantastisch zeg... Kippenvelplaat!
