zo te zien maar 5 stemmen tot nu toe voor zijn debut album uit 2007 dus kennelijk in NL redelijk onbekend?

jammer want deze artiest (James Chapman gaat onder de naam Maps) is talented en best unique en niet voor niks een Mercury Music Prize nominatio een paar jaar terug
over deze nieuwe album ...
MAPS (aka James Chapman) will release his second album "Turning The Mind" (Mute) on 28th September,which is the follow up to his Mercury Music Prize nominated album "We Can Create" (from 2007) and this will coincide with a 15 date UK tour in October and early November. The album is preceded by the single 'I Dream Of Crystal' which is out on 14th September. James Chapman describes his new album as "an album which explores themes related to the human mind and the way certain stimuli, particularly chemical, can affect the mind in different ways. The tracks for this album never seemed to stop flowing from the day I began working on them, it is a true statement of Maps' music at this precise moment."

Bij het vorige album werd geklaagd over het 'repeterende karakter' van de tekst in nummers. Dat is in ieder geval nog steeds het geval. De teksten zijn dan ook nauwelijks de moeite waard. Het gaat veel meer om het geluid. Als je bijvoorbeeld Love will come luistert dan lijkt me dat meer dan geslaagd.

Retestrakke plaat, echt een unieke sound. Heel sterk, wat een geweldige producties, gek dat dit niet bekender is.
