Prachtig mooie compilatie van het beste uit de Stax geschiedenis. Een aanrader.

Het verschil met de Stax 50th Anniversary Box is dat je bij The Stax Story 3 cd's met 79 nummers krijgt ipv 2cd's met 50 tracks + een live cd. Dat laatste maakt deze box echt interessant, want flink wat materiaal van de eerste 3 cd's vind je ook op die van Stax 50th Anniversary.
Een andere reden om voor deze box te gaan is het mooie boekwerk met uitgebreide informatie en foto's wat erbij zit en dat alles op Longbox formaat (, dus niet van die verschrikkelijke kleine lettertjes). Het is geschreven door 4 prominente schrijvers, allen betrokken bij Stax en/of R&B geschiedenis.

Er staan heel wat grootste hits op deze box, met name (wel zo overzichtelijk) op de eerste cd. Maar daarnaast staan er ook heel wat 'rarities' en dus ook live materiaal (cd 4) op, waarvan een deel nog nooit is uitgegeven. En dit maakt de box ook weer interessant voor verzamelaars.
Als je iets meer dan de grootste hits in huis wil halen van Stax dan is deze fraaie box zeker een aanrader!
