Birds of Tokyo formed from a collaboration between members of other well known Perth acts including Karnivool and Tragic Delicate. Birds of Tokyo's music has been described as incorporating soaring vocal melodies, catchy rock based guitar hooks, and a driving rhythm section.

That’s how some of Australia’s biggest magazines, newspapers and radio stations have raved about the new self-titled album by BIRDS OF TOKYO – singer Ian Kenny (who’s also the singer for Karnivool), guitarist/producer Adam Spark, drummer of Adam Weston and bassist Anthony Jackson.
BIRDS OF TOKYO is an album that carries with it the weight of one man’s world… the entire emotional gamut of a love lost, and the broken heart it left in its wake; set to music of depth and complexity. Hele sterke pop muziek, met een zanger die een telefoon boek nog intressant kan zingen.

Eerste luisterbeurt belooft veel goeds. De eerste twee nummers heb ik nu al wat vaker gehoord, en die zijn verdorie best wel pakkend! Kenny is inderdaad een begenadigd vocalist, en brengt het geheel vol overtuiging. Het is even wennen aan de korte liedjes als je Karnivool gewend bent, maar de muziek is dan ook best wel anders. Pop/rock inderdaad. Ga deze de komende week nog wel wat vaker draaien.

Herstel; ze zijn eigenlijk allemaal best wel pakkend 
!! Wat een goeie CD zeg, het is zelfs moeilijk om favorieten aan te wijzen, maar een eervolle vermelding heeft Circles toch wel verdiend. Het is echter niet zo dat de rest er voor onder doet. Voorlopig zet ik even in op 4*.

Jammer dat bijna niemand dit luistert, dit is hele mooie pop muziek met IAN KENNY! Welke hedendaagse vocalist is beter?

Is dat een straffe plaat?

Is ze verslavend?
Amai nog niet!
Wordt ze één van mijn favorieten?
Ge moogt gerust zijn!
Toch één van de betere rock cd's van de laatste jaren. En zo te zien zijn de vorige cd's ook allemaal toppers. Ik zal er eens werk moeten van maken.

Alweer 10 jaar geleden, we worden oud.
Mooie plaat hoor, rustige rock/pop met mooie melodieen en refreintjes, geen cheesy dingen.
Goed gitaarspel ook, hangt een relaxte sfeer omheen.
Ik vind vooral de eerste helft echt heel goed, maar het is ook weer niet zo dat het inkakt.
Circles het beste nummer voor mij.
