Schitterende boxset van de beste progressieve rockband ooit. Naast het feit dat dit een geweldig carrière overzicht biedt staan er ook enkele niet te missen eerder onuitgebrachte nummers op.
Zo staat op disc 1 een fantastische studioversie van 'Pictures at an Exhibition', evenals door ELP heropgenomen versies van de nummers 1,2,3,4 en 6. Heerlijk om 'Touch and Go' eens zonder die logge, zware 80'ies productie te horen.
Ook is dit het enige ELP album waarop 'Rondo', 'Bo Diddley' en 'Prelude and Fugue' te vinden zijn.

Het probleem met ELP is dat m.i de kwaliteit van hun omvangrijke oeuvre zo wisselvallig is. Werkelijk briljante nummers als "Trilogy", "Peter Gunn", "Tarkus", "Pictures at an Exhibition", "Pirates" of "Fanfare for the Common Man" worden afgewisseld door kwalitatief dubieuze nummers als "Memoirs of an Officer and a Gentleman", "I Believe in Father Christmas" of "Watching over You". De studioversie van "Pictures at an Exhibition" is inderdaad fantastisch! Ik heb de 4 cd "Return of the Manticore (1993)" geleend uit de bibliotheek en er een prettige 2 cd ELP verzamelaar van gemaakt.Schitterende boxset van de beste progressieve rockband ooit.
