Fernwood Studios is opgericht in 1956 door Ronald Wallace & Jack Clement. Elvis' gitarist Scotty Moore zat in 1958 zonder werk, toen Elvis in dienst moest en kwam in dienst als studio-producer bij Fernwood. Op Spotify staat Fernwood Rockabilies, zodat het me lijkt, dat ze ook andere muzieksoorten opnamen. In 1968 overstroomde de Mississippi rivier en maakte een eind aan Fernwood Studios.
