Symfonische Black Metal, begot... Volgens mij is dit mijn eerste echte volledige kennismaking met Dimmu Borgir uit Noorwegen, dus meespreken met de echte kenners kan ik niet. Ik werd aangetrokken door de videoclips voor Gateways en Progenies of the Great Apocalyps en ik bleef verbaasd achter.

Op Discogs zul je zien dat er diverse versies van Forces of the Northern Night bestaan: Dimmu Borgir & The Norwegian Radio Orchestra & Choir* - Forces Of The Northern Night at Discogs. Het gaat om de klassieke samenstellingen cd / dvd / blu-ray / lp. Noem maar op.

Mijn auditieve indruk is heel positief, maar indrukwekkender zal het visuele aspect hiervan zijn, omdat hierop een symfonisch orkest én een koor meedoen en dat komt goed in beeld. De opnames in Oslo zouden dateren van 2011, deze in Wacken van 2012.
