Dit is een prachtige soundtrack van Fritz Lang's Metropolis uitgevoerd door het Australische collectief The New Pollutants. De volledig gerestaureerde film met deze nieuwe soundtrack ging in 2005 in première tijdens het filmfestival in Adelaide. Het onheilspellende gezang van zangeres Astrid Pill gaat vergezeld van cello, draaitafels en computersamples. Het past uitstekend bij de nare, dystopische sfeer van Metropolis. De muziek is een vreemde maar wonderschone mix van klassiek, trance en techno die soms doet denken aan de albums BGM en Technodelic van Yellow Magic Orchestra. De complete film inclusief de prachtige muziek van The New Pollutants is op YouTube te bekijken.

Je zult dit niet vinden bij Spotify of Apple Music. Je kunt de complete soundtrack wel online kopen. Het mooie hiervan is dat je zelf de prijs mag bepalen. Bovendien is de film in allerlei bestandsformaten te downloaden, van MP3 tot FLAC.
