Een hele mooie lijst, Ferre. Eindelijk weer eens iemand met Echoes! Maar ik vind je persoonlijke top 10 ook geweldig, artiesten uitgehaald zoals Stars of the Lid. En TwinSisterMoon waar ik later achter kwam dat hij in Natural Snow Buildings zit, The Dance of Moon and the Sun is een van mijn favoriete nummers.

Echoes blijft magisch hé. Jouw persoonlijke top10 vind ik ook één van de betere op de site.
Ook je berichten, stemmen, en dergelijke volg ik wel behoorlijk veel - mooi, mooi...

Eigenlijk wilde ik hem gisteren plaatsen, maar ik had er toen geen tijd voor.

Dit is de top 100 van mijn top 250. Het 1e getal is de huidige positie, het 2e getal de positie van het nummer op 31 oktober. Ik ga de komende dagen mijn volledige top 250 draaien en dan bepalen wat er wel en niet in moet blijven. Ik ben nu bij 210 en ik merk dat er nog flinke verschuivingen gaan komen. Dit zal terugkomen in mijn volgende overzicht. Veel nummers die ik vroeger erg goed vond, zijn nu niet meer goed genoeg voor een plek in de top 250. Met name onderin.

En voor de liefhebbers: Hier staat het excel-bestand.

Het enige positieve dat ik zie is de stijging van de Radiohead-nummers. Ik schat ook dat 90% van de muziek van voor 1980 is... (geen waardeoordeel overigens)

En ik zie dat zowel een van de allerbeste als een van de allerslechtste Crowded House-nummers erin staan (je kent alleen die twee?).

Zeker geen 90%. Wel een groot deel, ja. De echt goede albums van de afgelopen 2 decennia moet ik nog ontmoeten (een paar ken ik er al; Ten, Violator, Isola, Fear of a Blank Planet).

Ik ken weinig Crowded House-nummers, ja. Buiten die 2 nummers alleen nog Four Seasons In One Day. Echter staan Crowded House - Crowded House (1986) en Crowded House - Woodface (1991) in mijn "Nog zien te scoren"-lijstje.

Together Alone is nog mooier, Chevy!

Bedankt voor de tip.... Nog een album op de steeds groter wordende lijst.

Even terugkomend op de jaartallen. Dit zijn de decenniumverdelingen:

Het percentage voor 1980 is dus 58%

Wel bijna de helft jaren 70, vind ik wel wat overdreven.

Dat het jouw decennium niet is, moet je mij niet verwijten.

Daarbij valt het best wel mee gezien mijn liefde voor veel 70's bands: Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, Eagles, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Queen. Voor de 80's vind ik al een stuk minder bands echt heel goed (Dire Straits, Toto, Michael Jackson). De 90's biedt (vooralsnog!) al helemaal weinig.
Eerlijk gezegd had ik verwacht dat er meer nummers uit de 60's zouden komen dan uit de 90's (The Doors, The Beatles, Morricone, maar blijkbaar houdt het daar op)

En dan laat je die buiten de lijst . Mooiste drieminutenpopliedje aller tijden vind ik

Waar heb je het over?

Ik heb verschillende Nas albums gehad en weer aan liefhebbers weggegeven. Ik ken het dus wel. Nas coverartiest noemen is natuurlijk niet zo serieus bedoeld.

Veel samples van andere artiesten en andere lijntjes van bijv. Miles Davis en ander jazzz en soulartiesten zijn er volop in zijn platen verwerkt. Ik geef dan de voorkeur aan de originele artiesten. De jeugd van nu kent die artiesten minder goed dus die weten niet wat het origineel is.
Probeer het uit te vinden en je zult horen dat ik niet overdrijf.
Ik vind het ook niet zo erg, ik hou zelf van de Beastie Boys en die hebben vooral op Check your head ook wat gesampled.
En nu ga ik Kind of Blue luisteren. En Arrie je top 10 deugt.

Ik weet heus wel dat er in zijn muziek veel gesampled is, maar dat is echt totaal wat anders dan coveren. Verder vind ik dat op nummers als NY State of Mind op sublieme wijze gedaan. Maar ik heb even geluisterd wat er in NY State of Mind allemaal gesampled is, mooie nummers hoor, maar je overdrijft zwaar, want dat is toch niet met elkaar te vergelijken? Hij neemt wat seconden uit jazznumers om er een hip-hopnummer van te maken. Dat heeft niks met coveren te maken.
