Er staan wel heel wat nummers uit de Top 200 in, ja, maar ook een hoop die nooit in de radio-Top 2000en die we hier in België gewoon zijn staat (of op een héél lage plaats).

Ik ben gisteren bezig geweest met een top 250. Het is allemaal redelijk snel gedaan. Bovenin klopt het nog wel voor 95%, maar onderin was het meer op de tast. Het top 2000 is hoog ja (bijna 100% geloof ik), maar dat is dan ook mijn muziek. Bovendien ben ik pas sinds kort begonnen met andere muziek te ontdekken (door albums te downloaden i.p.v. greatest hits)

Compleet willekeurig. Zelfs de top 10. Maar omdat ik in eerste instantie een enorme twijfelaar ben wat betreft mijn album top 10 heb ik besloten de zaken wat simpeler te houden.

Ik moet zeggen dat Snap! wel heel erg uit de toon valt in de top 10.

Hehe ja, zoals er wel meer uit de toon valt als je in mijn iTunes lijst kijkt Dat moet overigens de Purple Haze Mix zijn, maar dat doet niets af aan het feit dat het uit de toon valt.

Wat me tegenstaat aan mijn top 10 (en top 50 die ik er achteraan heb geplakt) is dat ik de nummers niet heb gesorteerd. De meest geloofwaardige manier om een top zoveel te maken van de beste nummers ooit is om de nummers te categoriseren (ambient, doom, soundtrack, commercieel). Dan worden de nummers zoals Rhythm is a Dancer, maar ook Need to Feel Loved beter verklaart.

Ik ben op dit moment bezig om voor mezelf goede muziek te definiëren. In de conclusie die ik over enkele maanden (ben ik bang) zal trekken is dat ook mijn muzieksmaak niet onder een noemer valt, maar dat ook die in categorieën gestopt moet worden. Desondanks denk ik dat ik de Purple Haze Mix van Rhythm is a Dancer kan rechtvaardigen door te zeggen dat ik van mooie, unieke geluiden hou. En die mix heeft dat bij vlagen. Ook de nostalgische waarde helpt hier overigens flink aan mee.
