Automatic For The People een terechte winnaar, ook al had ik Achtung Baby ook graag zien winnen.

In ieder geval, ik ben tevreden met de lijst.

Op naar de '80s?

Uitstekende top 10 zo.

Jammer van Achtung Baby op het laatste moment.. toch wel een slagje origineler dan Automatic For The People, maar ook een mooie plaat, daar niet van.

Iedereen bedankt voor deelname, op naar de 80's!

Een mooie lijst waarin R.E.M. goed vertegenwoordigd is. Eén (zeer belangrijk) album ontbreekt ten onrechte : Radiohead - OK Computer.

En waar is Ten?

Het is natuurlijk een Game-systeem, maar uiteraard horen Ten én OK Computer op zijn minst in deze lijst te staan, ook al ben ik niet zo'n liefhebber van Ten.

Die Top 3 zit veel geluk/pech bij en had net zo goed een andere volgorde kunnen hebben; dat Violator de nr. 4 is van de laatste ronde is dan wél terecht, blijkt ook wel dat die niet meedeed om de "prijzen" .

Tsja, 4x R.E.M. in de top 20, mijn smaak is het niet, maar jullie hebben gestemd... Wat betreft OK Computer: dat is het nadeel van dit systeem, het kan zorgen voor verrassingen, Radiohead is daar vaker slachtoffer van, want ook Kid A haalde de top 100 van de 00's niet... Aan de andere kant is het ook wel eens verfrissend, albums als Ten en Agaetis Byrjun zou je hier normaal gesproken ook verwachten, die hebben het ook niet gehaald...

Mijn nominaties hebben het trouwens maar matig gedaan, had Built to Spill, Nick Cave en Slint er toch ook wel in verwacht...

Ten van Pearl Jam hoort daar inderdaad ook te staan. In de top-100 van Studio Brussel staat het zelfs op 1.
Een jaren '90-toplijst zonder OK Computer en Ten kun je moeilijk serieus nemen, al vind ik de lijst voor de rest wel OK.

Godzijdank niet in deze top100..

OK Computer had er van mij dan wel tussen gemogen inderdaad.

Leuke winnaar veel beter dan nummer 2.

Doordat onder mijn nominaties twee van die toptwintigplaten van R.E.M.-platen waren, heeft mijn inbreng het heel redelijk gedaan. Voor het overige is het wel een beetje armoedig... maar zoals ik daarstraks al memoreerde: wat mij betreft wel de beste finale sinds lange tijd in welke album-KO dan ook.

Neutral Milk Hotel heeft het niet eens gehaald.
En van The Chemical Brothers heeft Exit Planet Dust het wel gehaald en Dig Your Own Hole niet.

Dat verbaast me dan weer niet zo, die plaat heeft traditioneel veel aanhangers, maar ook veel tegenstanders...

Met het toevoegen van zulke grote albums is het geen verrassing dat ze hoog kwamen. Ik verbaas me meer over het feit dat Gish van The Smashing Pumpkins de top 100 wel gehaald heeft en Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness weer niet.
