Dat moet weer een hele klus zijn geweest TheSilmarillia!

Dit is het vervolg op Greatest Hits of the 80's. Het hoge hitgehalte ligt hier een klein stukje lager dan op die eerste. Er staan wat meer onbekendere dingen tussen of hits die in Nederland niet gescoord hebben blijkbaar. Hierdoor net ook een tikkie verrassender af en toe.
Maar over het algemeen gewoon pure nostalgie waar je een hoop waar voor je weinige geld krijgt.

Dit deel vind ik ook een stukkie beter dan zijn voorganger. Kwalitatief iets beter ook. Ook aantal artiesten ontdekt door deze verzamelaar (808 State, Mystic Merlin en Loose Ends). En in eerste instantie kocht ik deze box voor 1 nummer die amper nooit op andere verzamelaars is verschenen: Moroder & Oakey - Together in Electric Dreams. Nu hopeloos gedateerd natuurlijk, maar wou het gewoon voor de heb in huis halen. Verder staan er idd prima singles op die in Nederland vrij weinig gedaan hebben (maar het wel verdienen om aandacht te krijgen).

Nu nog proberen die derde box te pakken te krijgen friek: ondanks de overlappingen staan ook daar best weer een aantal zeer leuke nummers op (zo wilde ik die alleen al hebben vanwege Stephen 'Tin Tin' Duffy's Kiss Me... hoe cheesy dat nummer ook is en You Little Thief van Feargul Sharkey staat er op en die had ik nog niet op cd, alleen op vinyl-single).

Ja, die 3e mis ik nog (wist ook niet dat die bestond trouwens). Kiss Me van Duffy is geweldig leuk! Dat nummer hoort voor mij samen met Tim Finn's Fraction Too Much Friction, vraag me niet waarom.. En You Little Thief is gewoon de beste single van Feargal natuurlijk. Stukken beter dan dat doodgedraaide A Good Heart. Dear God van XTC heb ik trouwens ook ontdekt door dit deel. Lekker nummer hoor
