Richard Thompson - Watching the Dark (1993)

Toch grappig: m.i.v. Rumor & Sigh draai ik zo af en toe een van zijn reguliere albums. Maar als ik het werk van daarvoor wil horen blijf ik toch steeds weer teruggrijpen naar deze prachtige verzamelaar. Beetje lang, aar dan krijg je ook wat!

Steeds weer een feest om te horen.

geweldig overzicht van het Engels folkicoon/meestergitarist Richard Thompson, dat songs omvat uit de periode vanaf 1969 t/m 1992, zowel van Fairport Convention, zijn solo albums, de duo albums met zijn toenmalige vrouw Linda en 1 nummer van het avant garde gezelschap French, Frith, Kaiser & Thompson.

de liefhebber van zijn werk heeft hier waarschijnlijk al veel van in huis, maar het zijn de kwaliteit van zijn songs, de vele live opnames en niet eerder uitgebrachte prachtnummers als "Bogie's Bonnie Belle" en "Poor Wee Jockey Clarke" die deze compilatie tot een must hear/must have maken.
