Twee briljante MC's op een dozijn donkere beats, heerlijk concept!
Album is niet al te toegankelijk en nodigt (voor mij) niet altijd uit om m te draaien
Maar de lyrics en flow zijn wel echt buitenaards...

Na tweeënhalve luisterbeurt begrijp ik de klassiekerstatus hiervan al. Jazzy beats die aan de ene kant een duidelijk 90s hiphopsound hebben, maar aan de andere kant wel een erg eigen (en tof) karakter tonen. Neem nou alleen al die bas in Stress Die zou best weleens een inspiratie voor Collude / Intrude kunnen zijn van Company Flow, trouwens. Maar goed, ook qua flows gaat dit tweetal helemaal los - met name Pharaohe Monch is echt een genot om naar te luisteren. Op de teksten heb ik nog niet zo veel gelet, maar ook dat lijkt goed te zitten. Dit heeft een erg constant, erg hoog niveau. Een echt kwaliteitsoffensief.
Die zou best weleens een inspiratie voor Collude / Intrude kunnen zijn van Company Flow, trouwens. Ik moest even kijken of ik hier wel een 5 voor had staan. Mijn god wat een lekker album.

Wat een heerlijke plaat! Zo hoor ik mijn hiphop graag: rauwe, jazzy beats en twee hongerige MC's die volledig los gaan. Fijn ook dat het album lekker beknopt is met drie kwartier en het tempo er niet wordt uitgehaald door skits of andere nonsens. Op de eerste helft vooral een heerlijk donkere New York-sound met Bring It On als absoluut hoogtepunt. Tweede helft wordt het iets luchtiger met het zomerse 3-2-1 als persoonlijke favoriet. Dikke 4,5*
