Despite the troubled times or even more than ever we should turn to music to find a sense of calm or inspiration. Piano Day was launched in order to promote the development of musical dimensions and to continue sharing the centuries-old joy of playing piano. This year's holiday will be different from the ones before – but still I'm happy to celebrate the piano and everything around it, and share a new album plus some more exciting news with you today. EMPTY - NEW ALBUM OUT TODAY
Piano Day is obviously the perfect occasion to share some music with you.
A couple of years ago, after a long French-style dinner with my dear friend and film director Benoit Toulemonde, I started to set up the recording of what would become the music for our short film, 'Empty'. You may have never heard of it because its unusual editing techniques – showing completely black images for minutes, playing only music – never made it into a big "box office hit"...
Without much pulling the music fell out of the piano these nights... Many many other notes of the piano have been struck since these days, and before we all forget about this, I thought it would be a good moment to share these lullabies with you. I hope they help you stay all strong and calm in these days of solitude – despite the hardship, we can discover introspection and reflection unexpectedly. Who knows what it is good for

Goed dat hij het juist nu publiek heeft gemaakt, doet er zelf bescheiden over: in de beperking toont zich de meester.

Artiest met vele gezichten deze Nils. Weer een compleet ander album dan Nils Frahm - All Melody (2018). Dit album weer ingetogen en achter z’n piano. Heeft ie uiteraard ook al eerder gedaan maar wederom smaakvol. Multi-talent deze knaap. Mijn aandacht heeft ie weer.

Dit album ligt vooral in het verlengde van FELT Broem., ik denk dat je op dat album doelt. Dezelfde minimalistische ingetogen aanpak icm de ruis cq bijgeluiden die het een vreemd intiem gevoel geven. Idd totaal anders dan All Melody, dat een veel breder spectrum laat horen.

Mooie, ingetogen pianoplaat van Nils Frahm, gevuld met warme klanken en dus ideaal gezelschap wanneer barre temperaturen zich aandienen. Borduurt inderdaad voort op Felt, en qua waardering schaal ik deze ook ongeveer even hoog in.
