In een interview laat hij doorschemeren dat hij niet zeker weet of Michael Jackson het gaat gebruiken.

John Legend zegt: “Ik was vroeger ontzettend fan van Michael Jackson, maar hij heeft het zichzelf de laatste jaren erg moeilijk gemaakt, maar als hij slim is plaatst hij mijn nummer op zijn album.

Wanneer je goede muziek maakt, vergeten mensen de onzin die je hebt uitgespookt. Kijk maar naar R. Kelly.

John komt met een Live CD en CD/DVD genaamd 'Live From Philadelphia'.

John Legend ft. Andre 3000 - Green Light

Ah cool, een nieuwe track. Kijk echt uit naar zijn nieuwe album dat dit jaar uitkomt. Hij had al aangegeven dat het album veel meer R&B-ish zou worden en dat bewijst dit nummer wel.

Ik vind het wel lekker, niet super, maar de stem van John maakt wederom veel indruk. Heerlijke sound.

Nummer vind ik niet echt super... Valt een beetje tegen!

Meer R&B-ish? Dat vind ik geen goed teken. Ik hield meer van de rustige liedjes zoals Ordinary people, coming home, again.
Maar ik vind Green light stiekem wel een leuk nummer

Ja, het wordt meer R&B en minder die soulvolle, jazzy touch van 'Once Again'. Aan de ene kant ben ik dan bang dat het een standaard R&B album wordt. Aan de andere kant is het wel John Legend, en dan weet je in ieder geval zeker dat muzikaliteit de boventoon voert. We zulen het dit jaar nog merken.

John Legend heeft altijd iets speciaals. Ik verwacht van hem geen standaard hedendaags R&B geneuzel.
Dat hij wil gaan bezuinigen op de soul en jazz op zijn nieuwe plaat vind ik dan weer wel onbegrijpelijk. Laten we er maar het beste van hopen.

Once Again is toekomstige classic.. ik kan het niet begrijpen waarom hij niet in die style muziek blijft maken..
Dat nummer met Andre 3000 vind ik niet slecht ofzo.. maar het is niet John Legend style.

John Legend heeft nochtans niet één stijl laten horen, vind ik. Wel veel muzikaliteit. Ik bedoel, de stijlen van zijn 2 albums zijn niet te vergelijken. 'Once Again' is veel meer soulvol en laidback als het meer R&B-ish 'Get Lifted'.
Misschien brengt John juist eindelijk eens iets verfrissend in de R&B. I Hope So!

Er is informatie bekend over John's nieuwe album. Hij gaat het opnemen met The Roots/?uestlove!
Dat lijkt me erg cool.

Goed nieuws over het nieuwe John Legend album! The Roots gaan het 4e album produceren dat de naam, Wake Up Sessions, zal dragen. Er is nog geen datum bekend wanneer het album zal uitkomen, maar wel in 2010 is gezegd.

Klinkt goed, ben sowieso wel een liefhebber van John Legend, hoewel zijn laatste album tegenviel. Maar als je gaat samenwerken met The Roots moet het bijna wel goedkomen.

New York (June 24, 2010) – Musical powerhouses John Legend & The Roots are presenting fans with a fiery new offering, Wake Up! The upcoming CD, being released by Sony Music on September 21, 2010, will feature soulful music from the 60’s and 70’s all with an underlying theme of awareness, engagement and consciousness— effectively telling listeners to Wake Up!

After being inspired by the recent historical Presidential election campaign of 2008, the R&B singer Legend and hip-hop band The Roots felt a need to enter the action. What started as plans for a single quickly developed into a passionate album representing change, hope and activism— not only referencing one particular moment in time, but on a larger scale, holding true no matter what the political climate may be.

The resulting album features eleven profoundly evocative songs infused with sounds of gospel, rock and reggae inflections with hip-hop influences. The album is highlighted by familiar tracks like “Wholly Holy” by Marvin Gaye and “Little Ghetto Boy” by Donny Hathaway mixed with the more obscure selections of Baby Huey and the Babysitters’ “Hard Times,” and “Hang on in There” by Mike James Kirkland.

“These songs sound so relevant now,” Legend says. “On most of them, you wouldn’t change a lyric. ‘Wake Up Everybody’ (the album’s first single, featuring contributions from Melanie Fiona and Common) has four verses—the first one is a general statement, the second is about education, third is about health care, and the fourth is about making a better environment. No editing needed.”

“When these songs were written, people were more spiritually in tune,” says Roots drummer/musical director Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson. “It was fresh from the civil rights era and there was a feeling of hope that maybe, yes, someday we will all be free. In 2010, not so much.”

The album features one original composition, Legend’s song "Shine," which is featured in Academy Award-winning director Davis Guggenheim’s upcoming documentary film Waiting for Superman. The song, a "Stevie-Wonder-meets-gospel" stunner, clearly demonstrates the strengths of this specific group of musicians. Wake Up! blends Legend’s expressive, thoughtful vocal interpretations with an element of funk that only The Roots can provide.

Bringing John Legend & The Roots together is an inspired pairing, so logical that it’s a little surprising they haven’t teamed up in a proper collaboration before. John Legend is a six-time Grammy winner whose three albums have all hit Number One on the Billboard R&B charts, and who has collaborated with such artists as Kanye West, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and the Black Eyed Peas.
