In de laatste week van 2007 was er iedere avond van 19.30 tot 20.30 uur het programma Top 2000 A Gogo te zien bij de NPS op Nederland 3, gepresenteerd door Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. In iedere uitzending mocht een bekende Nedelander zijn of haar favoriete plaatje komen promoten. Op oudejaarsavond mocht Frits Wester van RTL4 zijn favoriete nummer in het zonlicht zetten. En weet U waar Frits voor koos...... Juist voor het prachtige nummer "I Am I Said" van Neil Diamond.
Het deed mij als liefhebber van de muziek van Neil Diamond in ieder geval goed dat Frits vol liefde en genegenheid sprak over de zang- en dichterskwaliteiten van Neil Diamond

Neil Diamond komt naar Nederland
AMSTERDAM - De Amerikaanse zanger Neil Diamond komt op donderdag 9 juni voor een concert naar de Rotterdamse Ahoy. Dit heeft Mojo Concerts dinsdag bekendgemaakt.
Neil Diamond heeft een muzikale carrière van ruim vijftig jaar achter de rug en meer dan 128 miljoen platen verkocht. Hij maakte hits als Cherry Cherry, Holly Holy, Cracklin' Rosie, Song Sung Blue, You Don't Bring Me Flowers, Solitary Man, Sweet Caroline, Love on the Rocks, Desiree en Shilo.
De voorverkoop voor het concert begint zaterdag.

Goud zou naar Hot August Night uit 1972 moeten gaan; beter wordt het echt niet!!

Vergeet Just for You ('67) niet !
Stones is ook een goede keus en zeker een goed album
Zijn hoogste kunnen en veel Topcomposities liggen pakweg tss '66 en '72

Mijn favoriete liedjes van zijn debuut tot en met Serenade.
Deze man heeft een aantal van de aller mooiste liedjes op zijn naam staan. Gegrepen uit het leven, met af en toe een vleugje gospel.
