Bijna klaar.

Vraagje. Als (single-)releases uitkomen (lang) voordat een album is uitgekomen en de tracks die op die release staan dus op het moment van uitbrengen compleet nieuw zijn (denk aan een single met vier nieuwe tracks), mogen die dan toegevoegd worden? Dit i.v.m. met de regel dat singles op de site mogen mits er drie nieuwe nummers op staan, wat op zich natuurlijk absoluut het geval is. Een sprekend voorbeeld:

Ayumi Hamasaki bracht halverwege 2003 een single uit genaamd &, met daarop vier nieuwe nummers. Eind 2003 verscheen toen een (mini-)album waarop drie van de nummers terechtkwamen.

Nogmaals.

Volgens de regels zouden ze er dan weer vanaf moeten. Echt handig is dat echter niet.

Nou ja, dat is dus juist een beetje de vraag. Moeten ze er dan vanaf omdat ze in een later stadium op een album beland zijn? Chronologisch gezien waren het gewoon nieuwe nummers, en bij de release was er nog geen sprake van een album. Een nee zou ik wel begrijpen, maar ik zou hier zelf toch echt pleiten voor een ja.

Het probleem hiermee is dat straks iedereen ineens singles gaat toevoegen met het argument dat deze voor het album uit zijn gekomen. Dan is de huidige regel toch gemakkelijker. Bovendien voegt een release waarvan alle nummers ook op een album staan niet zoveel toe aan de site.

Ik kan niets vinden over de band IsOokSchiterend !!!
Nu gebruiken ze de naam I.O S.... maar daar kan ik ook niets over vinden
Of zoek ik verkeerd.........

In 2005 bracht FM3 de Buddha Machine uit, een klein stand-alone apparaatje met daarop 9 verschillende loops. Deze loops zijn later ook als downloads beschikbaar gemaakt op de website. Wel degelijk dus uitgebracht, op geluidsdrager, te koop geweest in de winkel, en uiteindelijk zelfs nog digitaal beschikbaar gemaakt. Kort maar krachtig: mag 'ie erop, of mag 'ie er niet op?

Het lukt me niet om een album toe te voegen. Als ik op ten duur de tracklist moet importeren, kom ik op een site waar ik deze vandaan moet halen ofzo. Maar hoe in godsnaam?

Dan moet je de tracklist kopiëren en in het vakje bij het toevoegscherm plakken. Importeren, et voilá.

Ik zag dat deze single van Bonnie 'Prince' Billy net toegevoegd werd, maar aangezien het een single is en er maar twee nieuwe nummers opstaan lijkt met het geen terechte toevoeging. Jammer overigens, natuurlijk, maar toch.

Nope: is opgezocht. Het is een enorm twijfelgeval maar er wordt wel degelijk EP bij vermeld. Daarom met twijfel doorgelaten. Vaag. Klopt....

De single is uitgebracht als voorloper op het album The Letting Go, dus op dat moment waren het 3 nieuwe nummers. Bovendien vermeldt AMG de single als een EP.

Is Strange form of Life niet net zoiets? (2007) van bpb

AMG wel, maar Drag City zelf niet. Wat betreft dat pre-The Letting Go uitgebracht, ik heb hetzelfde argument eens gebruikt voor een single met vier nieuwe tracks die een half jaar later plots op een album werden gegooid, maar die mocht er dan weer niet op, ook al waren het chronologisch gezien allemaal nieuwe nummers. Blijft een lastig issue. Ik ben verder compleet pro-alles erop (ik zou het liefst ook singles op MuMe zien), maar ik denk dat met de huidige regels Cursed Sleep niet echt een rechtmatige toevoeging is. No offence naar jou verder, natuurlijk, en enigszins wat betreft circumstantial evidence (AMG) en vooral de pre-release redenering ben ik het met je eens, maar ik wil maar zeggen. Ik vind overigens dat indien het label zélf niet aangeeft dat iets een EP is het ook niet als zodanig gezien moet worden, aangezien elke bron er dan al naar gelang een EP van kan maken.


Nee, aangezien Drag City (het label) Strange Form of Life zelf een EP noemt, wat bij Cursed Sleep niet het geval is (check de website).

Voorlopig in ieder geval maar gestemd en aan mijn albums toegevoegd.

Wat een fanatieke lobby om een single/ep van de site te krijgen zeg

...maar laten we zeggen dat het geen EP is, dan is het toch nog altijd een single met 3 nieuwe nummers?
