Bizar dat je Kiwi en Kiwi jr. in de lijst kan hebben staan, twee totaal verschillende bands. Blijkbaar waren er niet veel varianten meer mogelijk.

Met enige trots wees zanger Nino van Black Rabbit mij op de nieuwe single Initium Finis. "Dat maakt mij dan medeplichting aan omkoping" sprak ik. "Voor een notering in mijn lijst. Niet dat ik er wat voor krijg. Ik wil er zelfs niets voor hebben om de schijn tegen te gaan. Het nummer is sterk genoeg van zichzelf."
Nino grijnsde. Voor iemand die later van de band lid is geworden, is het een redelijk nieuwe ervaring. Maar feitelijk heeft de Death Metal Band uit de omgeving Apeldoorn de EP Warren of Necrosis uit 2020 geheel nieuw opgenomen. Met nieuwe muzikanten, nieuwe muzikale inzichten en alles wat verbeterd zou kunnen worden aangepast.

De single kwam alvast vandaag uit. "Nu nog optreden" zei ik. Ik geef graag duwtjes in de goede richting. Black Rabbit organiseert zelf bijvoorbeeld een jaarlijks metal festival.

"We zouden wel meer willen optreden dan we nu doen" aarzelt Nino. "Maar ja, het is niet gemakkelijk om zalen zover te krijgen dat ze ons willen boeken. Dat is weer een heel circuit op zich. En naar verhouding is dat helemaal niet zo duur. We geven een volwaardig concert en we hoeven feitelijk alleen break-even te draaien. Wij moeten het vooral van merchandise hebben."

Wie heeft er ervaring met het boeken van zalen in Nederland, België of Duitsland voor een geweldig avondje Death Metal? Ik werp me graag even op om contacten te leggen. Een PM is voldoende.

Wat ik echt heel boeiend vind is dat wij min of meer vissen in dezelfde vijver maar dat onze Top 50's vijftig verschillende nummers herbergen.
Ik heb dan weliswaar betere. Maar toch.
Echt heel knap.

Jouw top 50 is idd een stuk beter dan de mijne, maar jouw lijst is voor mij te eenzijdig, teveel stevigegitaargericht. Ik vis in meerdere vijvers. Soort van sleepnet, zeg maar. Ik voel mij ook prima thuis bij Americana, singer/songwriters, oldschool soul & funk, traditioneel Afrikaans, emo, nederpop, hyperpop, een beetje hiphop, snufje latin, hier en daar wat dance en, op 25, noord-Scandinavische traditionele folk.
Misschien is mijn nr. 5 iets voor jou: Ierse speedmetal van the Scratch - Pull like a dog
