en dat heeft niets te maken met vals enthousiasme of nauwlijks tot geen vormogen om de boel te relativeren. De nieuwe Neurosis is met gemak een 95/100 waard (daar ga ik ook zeker nog wel een review overs chrijven) en als een van mijn favoriete bands zou ik zelfs durven claimen dat het hun één na beste is. En die plaat van Neil Young, die ik vrolijk zomaar de volle 100/100 monstermep gaf, is het nog steeds dubbel en dwars waard en dat zie ik de komende jaren niet veranderen. Ongelofelijk goed.

De overige albums kennen echte pareltjes in de vorm van Antimatter (who needs Anathema anyway?), Dälek (nagelbijtend spannende hiphop& ambient hybride), Gazpacho (prachtige droom) en de 'tearjerkers' van Blackfield. Die platen staan ook hoog in achtig maar ik buig nederig voor de eerste twee. De afstand is enorm.

In één maand 6 nieuwe platen in mijn top 10. Zodoende vallen de albums van o.a. Feist, Richmond Fontaine, Golden Smog en Bright Eyes net buiten de boot. Wat overblijft zijn de wat minder bekende (geen één album heeft 10 of meer stemmen) artiesten, maar zeker niet minder in kwaliteit.

De teller staat hier inmiddels op 109 "reguliere" albums met een totaalgemiddelde van 3,34*.

Tot nu toe al een erg mooi jaar en we zijn nog geen eens halfweg. En er komen nog enkele albums waar ik erg naar uit kijk, waaronder die van Rilo Kiley en Mariee Sioux.
