Buiten je nummer 1 (erg goed trouwens) en Bardo Pond ken ik geenenkele van je top. Waar haal je je inspiratie vandaan? Zelfs voor mume normen is het een alternatieve lijst. Eens kijken of ik er van kan vinden...

Het is vooral een kwestie van "van het één komt het ander". Je hoort iets dat je tof vindt en dat blijf je volgen, aanverwante artiesten en labels ga je verder uitpluizen, etc, etc. Maar aangezien ik een beetje een muzikale nomade ben zit er eigenlijk van alles tussen, van heerlijk rammelende Japanse garage rock tot ingetogen, melancholische slaapliedjes.

Van South San Gabriel had ik trouwens wel echt gedacht dat je daar iets van zou hebben, omdat het toch behoorlijk in jouw straatje (singer/songwriter met band, warm geluid en sterk gevoel van melancholie) zit. Maar mocht je inderdaad nog niks van ze hebben dan zou Welcome, Convalescence een beter instap moment zijn. Prachtige groeiplaat.
