Zoals u ziet vind ik de plaat van Scarlett dus de een-na-mooiste van dit jaar tot nu toe. En aangezien er zo verschrikkelijk veel moois dit jaar is uitgekomen (nét buiten mijn lijst vallen o.a. Beach House, Deerhunter, dEUS, Nick Cave, R.E.M., Gnarls Barkley, Hot Chip, The Breeders, The Kills, The Black Keys, M83, Neon Neon, Ratatat, Vampire Weekend, My Morning Jacket, Elbow, Coldplay, Death Cab For Cutie, The Last Shadow Puppets, Tindersticks, Raconteurs, British Sea Power en ik vergeet vast nog een hoop. 2008 is een muzikaal topjaar wat mij betreft!) zegt dat toch een hele hele hoop. Ik kan hem ook blijven draaien en hij wordt echt alleen maar beter!
Ik ben een groot fan van Tom Waits en ik denk dat hij zeer gevleid is met dit bijzondere eerbetoon. Het zou leuk zijn als hij nu ''Song For Jo'' zou gaan coveren, de enige niet-waits-cover, en, zoals eerder gezegd, de mooiste track van deze plaat. Ja, dat zou grappig zijn, als hij dat nummer zou gaan doen op zijn eigen manier.
Nu maar even op zoek gaan naar die iTunes-live-e.p. waarop Scarlett o.a. Boys Don't Cry van The Cure covert. Dat kán alleen maar fantastisch zijn!
