Stuk voor stuk klassiekers...wát een jaar! Het beste jaar uit de popgeschiedenis?

Overigens zijn noch ELO's Eldorado, noch de beide GP-platen uit 1973 afkomstig. Gelukkig maar, anders had ik die er ook nog ergens tussen moeten proppen.

Ik realiseerde me bij het maken van dit lijstje overigens dat er aardig wat artiesten en groepen (Roxy Music, Bruce Springsteen, John Martyn, ELO, Yes) in die tijd twéé topplaten binnen één tot anderhalf jaar uitbrachten. Ik wil niet klinken als een 'vroeger was alles beter'-fanaat, maar toch: kom daar tegenwoordig maar eens om...

Inderdaad, ik sta versteld hoeveel klassiekers toen werden uitgebracht en dan in verschillende genres. Degenen die beweren dat de jaren '70 muzikaal weinig voorstelden dwalen.
Verrassend dat in de lijst van Dazzler "Time Fades Away" op 7 staat, een weinig bekend Neil Young-album.

Geen misverstanden, hoop ik.
De lijsten die ik publiceer zijn niet de dazzler lijsten.
Het zijn de jaarlijsten zoals die op MuMe staan, met weglating
van de albums waarop weinig gestemd werd (zie uitleg).

Bedoeling is dat ik die als uitgangspunt neem
voor mijn eigen lijsten (vroeg of laat te publiceren).

Zo valt me op dat Tubular Bells niet in de jaar top 50 1973 voorkomt.
Dat wil dus zeggen dat ie niet zo'n goede score haalt als Hergest Ridge
of Ommadawn die wel de jaarlijsten van 1974 en 1975 halen.

Of misschien is het zoals gaucho zegt: te veel goeie platen in één jaar,
maken dat een Tubular Bells zich zelfs niet kan handhaven bovenaan.
