Beetje jammer wel van Ratboys, want alles behalve slecht. Maar een speelduur van 8 minuten 29 seconden kan dit nummer niet echt hebben. Wanneer het moment komt dat er gevoelsmatig duidelijk afgerond mag worden, zijn er nog 4 minuten te gaan. Een radio-edit zou dus heel welkom zijn, kan minstens een volledig punt schelen.

Alle sympathie voor Lennert Coorevits, dat zijn solo-project succesvol mag wezen. Plezante sound. Stiekem blijf ik echter wel gewoon hopen op een nieuwe Compact Disk Dummies. De nieuwe Royel Otis heeft bij mij toch een drietal weken nodig gehad om aan die 7.5 te raken, dit lijkt muzikaal een soort nieuwe era. Of hun eerstvolgende klinkt weer als vanouds, dat kan ook.

De stemming is duidelijk, NightCrawl grijpt naast het eindspel, Hiqpy heeft een derde finaleplaats te pakken. Voor de tweede maal op een rij is Muse de maandwinnaar.

Als er iemand met z'n tengels aan een oude Allez Allez-hit mag zitten, dan is het Roméo Elvis wel (want: de zoon van de bassist van die band), maar helaas wordt de track er in zijn handen niet bepaald beter op.
Dubbel jammer is Gener8ion; deel 2 had niet gehoeven, en helaas was de zanger blijkbaar net op vakantie toen de studiotijd geboekt was.
Ook jammer: LowSunday heeft heel goed naar de Jesus & Mary chain geluisterd, maar weet niet wat een liedje is. Wat overblijft is ruim 4 minuten aan new wave-geluiden.
Neem dan een voorbeeld aan de Stones: hun meest bluesy track in jaren tijd. Dat vinden wij leuk!

Super-like dan voor de samenwerking tussen GENER8ION, die eindelijk een full-album gaan lossen, en Yung Lean. Als je 't mij vraagt is STORM misschien wel dé videoclip van het jaar, so far. Beide delen zijn ijzersterk op hun eigen manier en toch hangt het samen als geheel, zowel visueel als muzikaal. Er zijn er die er niets aan vinden, er zijn er bij wie het emotioneel iets doet. Ik zit in de laatste categorie, ook al kan niet aanduiden waarom precies. Ries lijkt de enige mede-believer.
