Mja, zie niet echt in wat er disco zou zijn aan Underworld. Is gewoon techno (wel hele hele goede). LCD Soundsystem staat dan toch veel meer met twee benen in de discotraditie (ook lang niet al hun nummers, maar nummers als Disco Infiltrator en Beat Connection toch wel), zeker als je ook de mixalbums van James Murphy en andere releases op DFA bekijkt. Voor mij eigenlijk wel een van de gezichtbepalende labels in het discogebeuren van de laatste 10/15 jaar.

Ook voor mij een wereld van verschil die nummers, waarbij Underworld nog niet eens voorzichtig tegen disco aanschuurt en LCD er juist flink mee flirt.

Te laat helaas, maar er staat niets tussen van Les Rhythm Digitales.....

Ik zie bij het loten James Brown - Sex Machine staan, dat vind ik toch meer funk dan disco daarom vervang ik deze door Les Rhythm Digitales - Hypnotise.

Nog eentje tegen gekomen wat ik geen disco vind: The Floaters - Float On wordt dan vervangen door: Eartha Kitt & Bronski Beat - Cha Cha Heels.

Brown made two other studio recordings of "Sex Machine" in addition to the original single version. One was made in 1970 for his ostensibly all-live Sex Machine album. It is over 10 minutes long and includes added reverb and overdubbed audience noise intended to conceal its studio origins. (A version of this recording without overdubs appears on the 1996 compilation Funk Power 1970: A Brand New Thang.) The other, which was released in 1975, features a new instrumental arrangement and lyrics aimed at disco audiences . Nearly 12 minutes long, it was released as a two-part single and appeared on the album Sex Machine Today.

Chromatics ook erg goed uiteraard, maar P&H is echt zo'n schitterend licht-melancholisch italo-pareltje van de oude school. In ieder geval een nummer dat ik eerder met dit genre associeer.
