Ben even weggeweest, dus excuses voor de late reactie.


Ik was natuurlijk niet aanwezig toen het initiatief voor het eerst werd geopperd (helaas), maar als dat het uitgangspunt was dan lijkt me dat dit doel in 2007 op voortreffelijke wijze bereikt is.

Er staan inderdaad veel grijsgedraaide nummers in de 'echte' top 2000 die over het algemeen ook zeker een commercieel succes waren. Dat staat voor mij echter niet per definitie gelijk aan oubollig.


Tsja zoals anderen al aangaven: dan zou je de regel in moet stellen dat nummers die in de 'echte' Top 2000 staan niet in deze mogen staan. Dan haak ik persoonlijk af. Het leuke is juist dat alles een kans maakt om er in te komen.


Het 'probleem' is dat 'dit soort nummers' een uitermate subjectief begrip is. Ik luister al sinds mijn 10e naar ABBA, heb bijna alle (studio)albums origineel en krijg er dan ook niet snel genoeg van. In huize Onweerwolf past het prima tussen Cannibal Corpse, Pavement, Raison D'être, The Levellers, Massive Attack of Supertramp, om maar een paar zijstraten te noemen. Een ietwat vreemde smaak misschien maar het is wel de mijne en ik ben er erg content mee, net als jij dat ongetwijfeld met jouw smaak bent.
Het feit dat de ene band miljoenen fans heeft en de andere door 99,9% van de wereldbevolking als vreselijke herrie wordt gezien zou voor een muziekliefhebber mijns inziens niet ter zake moeten doen, onafhankelijk van wat je nou zelf wel of niet tof vindt.

Om een tegenvoorbeeld te geven: ik vind The Verve's "Bitter Sweet Symphony" een walgelijk en schromelijk overschat nummer en zou het op zich toejuichen als deze uit de MuMeLadder zou zakken. Ik veronderstel echter dat dat niet snel zal gebeuren want schijnbaar is het onder de samenstellers van deze lijst toch wel een geliefd nummer. Dat vind ik dus prima want het houdt de lijst wel interessant. Als er alleen maar nummers in zouden staan die ik zelf leuk vind dan heb ik nooit iets nieuws te ontdekken en bovendien de rest van jullie niet nodig om de lijst samen te stellen en dat zou jammer zijn want het is juist zo'n leuk initiatief.

Hm, ik vind het nog steeds jammer dat zo veel klassiekers/top2000 nummers de lijst aanvoeren, maar daar valt niks aan te doen helaas.

Herkansingsronde

De 1e ronde van de MuMeLadder 2008 zit er, na 256 ladders, eindelijk op. Op basis hiervan zijn de 2560 nummers die aan bod zijn gekomen voorlopig ingedeeld in 3 groepen.

Groep A: Hierin zitten de 768 nummers die uiteindelijk gaan strijden om de 1e plaats van de eindlijst.

Groep B: Hierin zitten wederom 768 nummers die gaan strijden voor de plaatsen 769 t/m 1536.

Groep C: Hierin zitten ook 768 nummers. Deze gaan strijden voor de plaatsen 1537 t/m 2000. Dat betekent dat uit deze groep straks nog 304 nummers zullen afvallen.

De overige 256 nummers zijn al afgevallen.

Voordat we verder gaan met de 2e ronde geven we een aantal nummers nog een herkansing om een groep hogerop te komen dan wel niet af te vallen.
Hiervoor strijden de 10 “slechtst” gekwalificeerden van elke groep tegen de 10 “best” gekwalificeerrden van de onderliggende groep, dit obv behaalde stemperctages in de ladders van deze 1e ronde.
