Mooie finale, alhoewel het leuker was geweest als er een nummer van Machine Head bij zat, maar goed:

Child in Time is natuurlijk wel een geweldige klassieker and all that, maar de essentie van de band Deep Purple is natuurlijk 10 x zo goed te horen in Speed King. Niks niet epos, rocken alsof de duivel op je hielen zit gvd! Net zoals Stairway to Heaven natuurlijk geniaal is, maar zeker niet archetypisch Led Zep.

Teleurstellende winnaar dus wat mij betreft. Van een leuke KO, dat wel

Ik heb er ook van genoten. Bedankt aan iedereen die meestemde en diep vanbinnen hoop ik dat er een aantal zijn die dankzij deze KO hebben beseft dat Deep Purple meer is dan Child In time, In Rock en Machine Head

En nu de volgende

Nou, eigenlijk wilden we nog gezellig een uurtje of 48 natafelen.

Ik vind het persoonlijk ook wel wat teleurstellend dat Machine Head niet vertegenwoordigd was in de finale. Zo'n Highway Star, Lazy of zelfs Smoke on the Water is toch tienmaal beter dan zo'n kennelijk de Deep Purple essentie pakkend nummer als Speed King. Maar goed, daarvoor ben ik ook geen DP-diehard, in tegenstelling tot hopelijk de meeste deelnemers.

Afijn, veel plezier met Otis Redding!

Dat er geen Machine Head in de finale zat is grotendeels te wijten aan de loting in de halve finale, had Highway Star in de halve finale niet tegenover Child In Time gestaan stond het nu in de top 2. Eigelijk zouden we bij KO's voor de volledigheid de nummer 3 en nummer 2 nog een laatste match tegen elkaar moeten doen om dit probleem te verhelpen. Veel kans dat Highway Star het dan haalt van Speed King..

En zoals ik al zei, Deep Purple heeft veel meer te bieden dan In Rock en Machine Head
