Nick Cave leek best lang op weg om 1 vd verrassingen van deze editie te gaan worden, na de eerste 50 lijstjes stond ie nog gewoon bij de top 5, maar toen kwam de klad erin. Na een eerste duikeling naar de rand van de top 10 volgde ineens een vrije val die ergens rond plaats 22 stopte. Bij de laatste lijstjes klom ie weer wat omhoog om uiteindelijk toch binnen de top 20 te eindigen, 7 plaatsen hoger dan vorig jaar. Ook de 6e plaats in de love/hate lijst was denk ik wel te verwachten, Cave blijft toch een artiest waar je of van houd of niet van houd maar waarbij de middenweg zelden bewandeld wordt.

Over grijze muizen in de finale gesproken, deze heeft dus - op een korte opleving naar net top 10 na - eigenlijk de hele finale rond het midden gehangen, wordt het onderaan het lnkerrijtje of bovenaan het rechterrijtje...dat laatste is het dus uiteindelijk geworden. Scoort dientengevolge ook laag in het aantal top 5 en bottom 5 noteringen en staat 31e in de love/hate ladder.

Zo, dat waren er weer 4....het rechterrijtje vd finale is nu gevuld....later vanavond komen de nummers 13 t/m 16 en daarna nog de nummers 11 en 12..

Wat middenmotors bij mij dit keer. Met daarin o.a. The Mercy Seat, stond de eerste keer dat ik in dit topic meespeelde nog derde maar zakt dit jaar verder weg. Ik geloof dat ik wel een beetje klaar ben met dit soort werk van Nick Cave. Talking Heads staan juist hoog voor mijn doen. In mijn eerste rangschikking van de laatste 32 bungelden ze ergens onderaan, maar bij het herluisteren schoven de praathoofden steeds wat verder naar boven. Zei El Ninjo een tijdje geleden niet dat er 8 artiesten in de top 10 stonden? Als dat niet meer veranderd is sinds hij dat schreef, dan betekend dat dat zowel Radiohead als The Smiths met twee nummers in de top 10 staan.

Wat ook wel opvalt is dat ik ook vorig jaar de enige was die Psycho Killer op 1 had gezet en nu ben ik alweer moederziel alleen...

Jammer dat het nummer nét niet wat beter heeft gedaan. Vandaag zowel de studio als de weergaloze live versie nog even beluisterd. Ik weet het zeker, dit is van die 32 nummers écht mijn favoriet.

Jammer dat hier mijn hele Top 10 zo ongeveer valt, dat verschrikkelijke dEUS heeft El Ninjo hopelijk gewoon over het hoofd gezien...

In dat geval zal ik het bod van de bank maar aannemen, het gaat niet meer beter worden.
