Moeilijkste battle die er gaat zijn voor mij denk ik. De 2 titelnummers van 2 albums uit mijn top 10. Mijn voorkeur gaat dan nog net uit naar The Perfect Element, die bezit toch net iets meer kracht dan 10.000 Days, hoewel... Argh 10.000 Days is ook zo mooi. Maar toch Pain Of Salvation dan maar, Tool heeft nog wel betere nummers.

Beide nominaties zijn van mij. Afterglow leerde ik kennen via de live-opname op Three Sides Live, die ik nog steeds veel beter vind dan de wat cleane albumversie; maar ook daar blijft de sublieme emotionele tekst overeind. Going for the one wint toch het punt, vanwege de gigantische vaart van dit nummer, de meezuigende melodie, de onwaarschijnlijke gitaarpartij tegen het einde (die live helaas vaak wordt weggelaten) en omdat het ook het titelnummer is van het beste album dat ik ken...

Bombastisch? Het is toch een ballade. Hoogstens wat zwaar aangezet, bij bombastisch denk ik toch eerder aan over de top tracks van bv. Queen, Muse, Meatloaf e.d.

Te zwaar aangezet, ook goed Bijvoorbeeld bij "I Would Search Everywhere, Just to Hear Your Call" en die herhalingen aan het eind. Alles relatief zoals gezegd, en gelukkig niet over the top zoals bij de groepen die je noemt.

Going for the one heb ik altijd een van de minste jaren 70 yes-nummers gevonden. Afterglow is Genesis met Hackett in de gelderen en dat is hoe je het went of keert kwalitatief hoogstaand.
