Dit is een moeilijke. De versie met Dawn Upshaw in de hoofdrol is wellicht mijn favoriete klassieke stuk ooit. Die versie zit in mijn muzikale aderen zullen we maar zeggen. Dus dit heeft al een achterstand. Maar is dat terecht? Het is even wennen, want ook dit is prachtig.
Ongetwijfeld niet voor iedereen weggelegd in dit topic.

Ah, vocale gedeelte uit de 3e van Gorecki, tja die versie met Upshaw is natuurlijk de klassieker, deze nog maar eens laten inwerken.

Naar aanleiding van deze extract was ik razendbenieuwd naar de hele uitvoering. Die viel me uiteindelijk een beetje tegen. Maar deze 5 minuten zijn meer dan prima.

Echt? Ik mis in de korte versie juist de laatste 2 minuten met die sax.

In het korte stukje mis ik ook wel het eea hoor. Zoals de opbouw van het stuk, niet onbelangrijk bij deze. Moet eerlijk zeggen dat de sax me niet zo grijpt in deze versie. Het blijft mooi hoor, maar het is moeilijk het los te zien van die andere versie die destijds natuurlijk veel meer indruk maakte.

Killing a Little Time vind ik tot nog toe zijn mooiste, van de laatste 3 vrijgegeven nummers!

Ik vind ze alle drie weer machtig mooi. Zo ook deze. Ik had afdankertjes verwacht, maar dat blijkt niet zo te zijn.
