Ik hou wel van een sterke verzamelaar. En zeker als het gaat om artiesten waarvan je niet meteen een regulier album zou kopen. Of om artiesten waarvan je niet alle albums in huis wil halen. Of om een artiest waarvan niet alle singles op album stonden.

Ik plaats er elke dag zo'n verzamelaar die moet voldoen aan één van de volgende criteria. De verzamelaar zelf werd in de loop der jaren een soort van classic album. De verzamelaar kan beschouwd worden als een definitieve compilatie van de artiest. De verzamelaar wordt in mijn collectie gekoesterd als essentieel.

En jullie mogen uiteraard stemmen op de tracks.

Duid je drie favorieten aan dan geef je 3, 2 en 1 punten.

Duid je zeven favorieten aan dan geef je 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 en 1 punten.

Met andere woorden: hoe meer songs je beloont, hoe meer punten je kan uitdelen.
We respecteren voor alle duidelijkheid de originele trackvolgorde. Dat stemt ook makkelijker.

Users die ook wat commentaar neerschrijven bij hun stemgedrag, worden door mij op handen gedragen. En mocht je nu toevallig een andere compilatie van die artiest in huis hebben die je minstens zo goed of misschien wel beter vindt, dan mag je ons altijd tippen.

Het is een onwaarschijnlijk sterke compilatie die één van de bestsellers van 1981 werd.

Ik voel me bijna schuldig om andere platen van dit album buiten beschouwing te laten.

Toch Bohemian op 1 voor mij omdat ik me kan herinneren dat ik dit nummer als klein menneke voor het eerst in de auto hoorde en ik snapte he-le-maal niks van de plaat. De tekst was voor mij toen niet te volgen en de melodie leek iedere zoveel seconden te veranderen. Toch raakte ik geïnteresseerd en begon langzaam warm te lopen voor Queen (ik kende op dat moment alleen nog maar We Will Rock You en We Are the Champions). Sindsdien heb ik me veel meer in de band verdiept en wat kan ik hier toch van genieten. Van rockers tot ballads, van meezingers tot muzikale hoogstandjes. Top band met ontzettend herkenbare muziek.

Ik doe het maar even zo, ik denk dat Dazzler per bericht wil optellen maar ik weet het niet zeker.

Iconische verzamelaar natuurlijk samen met de blauwe/rode en Abba Gold zo'n beetje de bekendste verzamelaar ooit. Deel 2 (die de periode tot begin 90's besloeg) is net zo'n klassieker.

Ja, natuurlijk is het de bedoeling om per bericht op te tellen.
Dat doen we hier immers altijd, maar het is ook niet echt levensbelangrijk.

Voor mij is de ultieme Joel verzamelaar toch wel deze Billy Joel - Greatest Hits Volume I & II (1985) ondanks dat er daarna vanuit de albums River of Dreams en Storm Front nog flink wat hits kwamen die overigens ook niet allemaal op onderstaande verzamelaar staan ( Leningrad bv). Bovenstaande dubbellaar was ook 1 van mijn eerste cd's en die blijven je, zo merk ik, altijd wat liever dan andere. Greatest Hits Volume I & II was ook zo'n best of waarvan het leek dat iedereen hem had. Dat hebben wel meer best of's waarvan ik denk dat die nog wel voorbij gaan komen (Annie en Dave (1991) , Toto (1990) en Fleetwood Mac (1988) bv.

Met stip één van de best verkochte verzamelaars uit de tweede helft van de jaren '80.
Al was het maar omdat fans van het oude uur zo hun bekendste hits op CD in huis haalden.
De vinyl versie was immers vier nummers korter.

Hier heb ik echt van moeten 'leren' houden. Als fan van de originele Fleetwood Mac kon deze pop variant van de band die eens zo'n pure, rauwe en heerlijke blues maakte, me niet echt bekoren. Waar zijn toch die tijden van Peter Green met Black Magic Woman, I Need Your Love So Bad, Oh Well, etc.... maar goed; dit popbandje had ook wel wat leuke platen Al lukt het me niet echt om tien platen te beoordelen; tot zes kom ik wel.

Eigenlijk vind ik enkel het laatste nummer wat minder.
Wat was dit toch een heerlijke band en deze verzamelaar en prima trip.
Enkel jammer dat hij niet chronologisch loopt, maar daar passen we zelf een mouw aan.
