Alan Tarney is bijna volop aanwezig in de lijst: "More than I can say" / "January, February" en het sterk beinvloede "Zondag". Alleen "Cathy's clown" moest wijken voor "The Cure". Cory Day zat bij Dr. Buzzard's original savannah band, waar ook Kid Creole vandaan komt. Prachtige vergeten klassieker "Anne" van "Kayak" bezet 26,. 16 ontbreekt opvallend genoeg. Rupert Holmes had bijna twee plaatsen bezet, maar "Escape" moest plaats maken voor "Too much, too young" van "The Specials". Nog meer ska op nummer 10 (Selecter). The Detroit Spinners moesten wijken voor The Nolans. Een prachtige nummer 4 notering voor Emerson, Lake & Palmer, die een half jaar eerder niet verder kwamen dan de tipparade met hetzelfde nummer.
Ondanks dat 1980 de grote doorbraak van diverse new wave bands in Engeland betekende, is new wave in deze lijst zwaar ondervertegenwoordigd.

1972

Bloedstollende strijd tussen Golden earring (Buddy Joe) en Stay with me van Rod Stewart voor de vierde plek
En wat te denken van nummer 22, Yes met Roundabout tegen Black dog van Led zeppelin.
