Waarom staat 'Parade' in je top 10, maar niet op 1 in deze top 5?

Lang verhaal en ik bang! Als ik met mijn verstand naar beide platen luister, vind ik eigenlijk Purple Rain een beter album. Parade was echter de allereerste plaat van Prince die ik hoorde, dus daar heb ik meer mee. Parade is de plaat waar ik meer op teruggrijp dan Purple Rain, maar elke keer als ik Purple Rain luister ben ik weer onder de indruk van hoe goed ik die plaat eigenlijk vind. Dus het is eigenlijk een soort gedeelde eerste plaats, maar mijn top 10 bestaat sowieso meer uit platen waar ik een special gevoel bij heb dan dat ik het beschouw als de 10 beste platen ooit gemaakt. Vb; ik weet ook wel dat the Beatles een veeeel betere band is dan Keane, maar Hopes&Fears is mijn speciale plaat; die zal altijd meer voor me betekenen dan welke Beatles-plaat dan ook. Met Keane ben ik opgegroeid, niet met the Beatles.

En zo geldt dit ook voor Parade. Lange tijd was dit het enige Prince-album dat ik had en daarom zal het voor mij altijd de Prince-plaat in mijn top 10 blijven. Maar of ik het ook zijn beste vind.... Hoop dat het zo iets helderder is, maar ik vrees van niet, haha!

Mooi lijstje en mooie nummer 1 (Lovesexy scoort meestal niet zo hoog bij de liefhebbers)

Ik begrijp alleen niet waarom jullie Musicology zo laag waarderen. Best goed album van de man.

De titeltrack is een klassiekertje wat mij betreft en daarnaast vind ik het een draak van een plaat met hier en daar wat aardige lichtpuntjes maar meer ook niet. Krappe voldoende. Smaken, heer Nicci.....

. . . ja die verschillen, maar neem van mij aan: het is een goed album!

Los van bootlegs wordt het moeilijk, maar het is uiteindelijk gelukt:

Het is verleidelijk om ook zo'n lange lijst te maken, maar dat vind ik (op dit moment) te moeilijk.

Albums zijn tabee, hedendaags maak je ze zelf.

Het verbaast me wel dat het Batman album toch behoorlijk vaak genoemd/hoog in de lijstjes staat. Zelf vind ik het ook een puike uitgave van de heer Prince. Maar dacht dat ik daar redelijk alleen in zou staan. Gelukkig niet dus. Een top 5 is op dit moment nog lastig, daar ik daarvoor nog een aantal albums (officiële releases) meer moet uitpluizen.
