Ken maar erg weinig van deze man...

Met Nas plaats ik mijzelf tegelijk voor een dillemma. Technisch gezien vind ik N.Y. State of Mind het beste nummer van Nas, maaaaar: Made You Look is mijn favoriet. Al-les klopt aan dat nummer, het is gewoon helemaal af. Die beat is zalig, teruggeworpen naar old school hip-hop, maar toch actueel. Daar dan een Nas overheen die heerlijk enthousiast klinkt en toch iets stoers onverschillig is (zonder saai te klinken: eat that, 50 Cent). Ook echt een onzettend stoer nummer. Ik ga nog een keer een cabrio huren en dat nummer keihard op repeat afspelen (vooral de line 'Don't say my car is topless, say the titties is out' dan natuurlijk ). Wie gaat er met me mee?

Wie is Nas ook alweer?

Nas is een rapper uit New York. Debuteerde in 1994 met Illmatic nadat hij al wat naam voor zich had gemaakt en is nog steeds actief in de hip-hop. Hij heeft net een nieuw album afgeleverd, zijn achtste (reguliere) alweer.

Als je even de moeite doet om in de top250 te kijken, of gewoon via de zoekfunctie zoekt, weet je het zo. Nas is een van de grootste rappers ooit. Tegenwoordig stelt hij niet zoveel meer voor, maar hij is verantwoordelijk voor een van de grootste hiphopalbums ooit: ILLmatic.
