Beiden niet mijn favorieten, maar niet geheel onverwacht finalisten natuurlijk en wel twee dijken van nummers, dus hoewel ik liever anderen gezien had, mooie finale!

Zoals eerder aangegeven geen fan van de solocarrieres van de Queenleden. Meest positieve uitzondering voor mij is het Barcelona-album, dus mijn keuze is makkelijk.

May heeft op zijn debuut ook een paar prima nummers, waaronder deze. Barcelona vs. Back to the Light was vermoedelijk mijn ideale finale geweest.

Mijn favoriete finale was denk ik wel Back to the Light van Brian of In My Defence van Freddie tegen Foreign Sand van Roger geweest.

Ik vind het nogal een veilige finale. Beide songs zijn wereldberoemd en elke niet Queenkenner kent ze. De echte deep albumcuts zijn waarschijnlijk te grillig om door iedereen goed gevonden te worden.

Stoer dat The Cross nog zo ver kwam, al had ik meer Taylor wel leuker gevonden. Had ik er maar niet even tussenuit moeten knijpen.

Gezien het feit dat het een compleet uniek nummer is en Freddie ermee bewees ook buiten Queen vernieuwend te kunnen zijn, is het natuurlijk een prachtige en terechte winnaar. Wie verzint het om pop en Opera te combineren? Dan krijg je natuurlijk een geweldige bombast, maar ook twee fantastische zangstemmen die elkaar naar grote hoogtes (letterlijk en figuurlijk) brengen.

Dank aan alle deelnemers! Hopelijk hebben jullie er plezier aan beleefd en her en der nog een mooie ontdekking gedaan. De Spotifylijst van de eerste ronde blijft gewoon open staan, dus dat kan alsnog.

Er schijnt een bandje te zijn die in de jaren zeventig een stukje faux-opera verwerkte in rocksong, ergens in 1975, maar dat is een erg obscure band.

Goed gepresenteerd en gecoördineerd, Bonk. Ik doe het je niet na!

Natuurlijk zeer bedankt mijn beste Bonk. Goed georganiseerd en ook vooral respect waarmee je deze ‘knock-out’ hebt geleid. Altijd ons ergens bij de les roepen als we weer eens in onze vakantie slaap lagen. Geduldig wachten en toch ergens het plezier er in blijven houden.
