Ik heb in eerdere ladders al mijn liefde voor dit nummer van Beardfish uitgesproken. Onverteerbaar als het in deze ladder zou sneuvelen. Een prachtig nummer met een tekst die echt ergens over gaat. Prima hoor, die prog nummers over elfjes, goblins, mythische figuren en ridders. Maar dit is zo’n kwetsbare tekst over de duistere gedachten die helaas veel mensen hebben. Dit briefje is een boodschap op geweldige muziek die voor mij echt niet mag ontbreken, naast een klassieker als Subsivisions of Queen.

Nou nou, wat een overdreven voorsprong. Ik ben best een Rush liefhebber, maar dit is schromelijk overdreven, zeker wat betreft dit nummer. Komt misschien omdat de ladder niet echt uitblinkt in potentiële finalisten. Met een uitzondering.
Want het beste nummer staat, met onthutsende afstand, weer eens ouderwets onderaan. Sowieso klopt er van de tussenstand weer eens geen mallemoer. Dat was weer even geleden. Minstens een paar dagen.

Altijd de verwondering dat Queen in de Progladder mee doet. Voor mij is (de oude) Queen een eigen muziekstroming op zich.

Devin is hier weer heerlijk. En Beardfish gewoon zeer mooi. Genesis zit hier ook op een galei de zeven zeeën te bevaren met de slaven aan de riemen. Maar Ray zingt zo mooi..
