Met Max Romeo en Rick James zien we 2 nominaties die zich plaatsen voor de eindlijst. Ik denk dat het hier ook bij blijft want PJ Harvey komt 6 plaatsen onder de virtuele scheidslijn terecht...niet helemaal kansloos dus maar met nog maar 26 ladders te gaan zal het wel lastig gaan worden vrees ik.
Voor Black Country, New Road is het ook een hard gelag, beide nummers vallen dit jaar weg uit onze top 2000 en we gaan ook afscheid nemen van Françoise Hardy dit jaar.

2 mooie binnenkomers

Zó dichtbij, maar helaas kon PJ Harvey niet rekenen op steun van onder meer Johnny Marr, johan de witt en aERodynamIC. Zou ontzettend treurig zijn als Good Fortune het uiteindelijk niet weet te redden!

Verder ook balen dat de twee sterke worpen van Black Country, New Road verdwijnen!

Het was proppen en ik gokte op voldoende steun. Verkeerd gegokt

Wist niet dat het een nieuwe nominatie was, anders had ik er allicht op gestemd. Zonde wel, zeker omdat Francoise al helemaal niet in de buurt kwam.

Zeker zonde! Ik moet toegeven dat ik het ook wel een vrij sterke ladder vond over de gehele linie, maar ik had toch liever andere afvallers gezien.

Alleen Joni Mitchell weet zich als nieuwe nominatie rechtstreeks te plaatsen voor onze eindlijst. Maar ook Elbow redt het nog met het behaalde stempercentage via de afvallerslijst. Dat houdt ook in dat Don McLean zich handhaaft in de top 2000. De overige 2 nominaties redden het niet en ook Arctic Monkeys valt weg uit onze top 2000.

We zitten momenteel op 100 gespeelde ladders ofwel precies op 4/5 van het aantal ladders uit ronde 1, dat betekent tijd voor een vierde overzichtje van de stand in de afvallerslijst. Volgens de bekende kort door de bocht statistiek zou je o.b.v. stempercentage momenteel bij de bovenste 100 nummers in de afvallerslijst moeten staan om het te redden, daar ligt momenteel ook de virtuele scheidslijn. Na 75 ladders was de scheidslijn doorgestegen tot The Temptations - My Girl maar 25 ladders verder is de lijn weer wat hoger komen te liggen en staan The Temptations nu 4 plaatsen onder de lijn.

American Pie in de herkansing en Hallelujah laatste is wel heftig, zeker als die matige Lana en Spinvis wel door zijn...

Ik dacht bij het nomineren dat ik een enorme hiaat in de lijst had gevonden en dat Hallelujah mijn enige zekere succesvolle nominatie zou zijn en tot hoog in de lijst zou reiken. Ik kon er niet verder vanaf zitten blijkt. Waar het mis gaat geen idee.

Met Good Riddance en Crying Lightning eruit en American Pie pas net door moet dit een van de minste uitslagen zijn van deze ronde.

De (veel) betere versie van Jeff Buckley staat al in de lijst. En twee keer hetzelfde nummer is wat veel van het goede.

Ik wilde iets schrijven over heiligschennis, dat een cover nooit beter kan zijn dan het origineel en nog zo het een en ander, maar voor je het weet merkt iemand op dat ik in deze ladder A New England de maximumscore had gegeven, dus dat laat ik maar achterwege.

Dat beide Heather Nova nummers uit de lijst vallen is wel heel teleurstellend

Het zijn beide totaal verschillende uitvoeringen, dan zou dat wel moeten kunnen toch. Jeff Buckleys versie is ook heel goed, maar is alsnog de mindere van de twee versies

Nou, het is nou niet bepaald een van Leonard's beste nummers. Dat gezegd hebbende, het is ook niet een van Jeff's beste (niet eens zijn beste cover). Dus ik stel voor dat we die er volgend jaar ook uitgooien. Iedereen tevreden

64 stemmers deze ronde

Het was al even geleden dat we een goede ladder voor de nominaties hadden. Maar zowel Roxy Music als the Isley Brothers weten zich rechtstreeks te plaatsen. En Brandi Carlile scoort een hoog genoeg stempercentage om het via de afvallerslijst te redden. Dat houdt automatisch ook in dat Editors zich dus ook weten te handhaven in de top 2000.
The War on Drugs komt 10 plaatsen onder de virtuele scheidslijn terecht en dat lijkt me in deze fase van de ronde, met nog maar 24 te spelen ladders, net een brug te ver worden om zich nog te gaan handhaven. Peter Gabriel moet ook het strijdtoneel verlaten.

Niet bepaald de beste wissel. Gelukkig is Blood nog net door, maar onvergeeflijk dat Strangest Thing eruit ligt.

Biko

Heel mooi dat Brandi in deze sterke ladder het heeft gehaald, maar Biko verliezen is wel een schande.
