Een 9.5 lijkt misschien wat aan de hoge kant, maar dit jaar kregen The Haunted Youth (deathwish) en Harry Styles (Aperture) een 9 ... Mijn lastFM account en enthousiasme tijdens het luisteren liegen er niet om, ik kan niet anders dan Des Rocs een nog hogere score geven. Op een échte Muse is het in ieder geval niet lang wachten, die komt morgen binnen.

De Fonteintjes doen het hier weer goed, naar mijn gevoel een ietwat mindere bijdrage aan Help(2).

PS: Forever Your Star, die bevat aan 't begin toch een sample van ... eum ... help? Die yeah-yeah-yea-ah op de achtergrond vóór de zang komt... De artiest of titelsong ontsnapt me. Er zijn er vast nog die dit horen.

Des Rocs is zó ver de top dat ie weer leuk is. En de track komt net op tijd langs om een 8 op te halen, want hij begint me al een beetje te vervelen. Daarentegen beginnen de Fontaintjes nu pas een beetje te beklijven, dus hun notering komt misschien een beetje te vroeg. Ook nog even de niet verkeerde solosingle van Yevgueni-zanger Klaas Delrue benoemen, maar in de breedte was het verder sowieso een prima luister-uurtje.

Geen opzienbarende week. Kevin Morby springt er bovenuit, maar die kende ik al. Topper van de week is Muse, die bij mij voor het eerst sinds jaren een voldoende weet te scoren. Domper van de week is Depeche Mode. Het zal best voor een goed doel zijn en zo, maar een hitsingle uit de sixties recyclen door er een synth-sausje overheen te smeren, dat is toch echt wel des UB40's. Jammer.
Overigens, ter leringh ende vermaeck: als antwoord op 'Universal Soldier' (geschreven door Buffy Sainte-Marie in 1963 en tot hit geschopt door Donovan in 1965) schreef Jan Berry van het duo Jan & Dean het MAGA-lied 'Universal coward'. Dean Torrence, de andere helft van dat duo, was het dusdanig niet eens met die antwoordtekst dat hij zei: "Neem dat maar lekker in je eentje op, Jan". Aldus geschiedde.

Prima weekje met slechts 2 onvoldoendes. Deze van HY bevalt me een stuk beter dan de saaie vorige single. Muse wordt elke luisterbeurt nog een beetje leuker en de nieuwe van The Veils bevalt me ook erg goed. The Sheila Divine en Violet Grohl haalden mijn weeklijst net niet, maar zijn nog wel zeer de moeite.
