De 'echte' top 2000 staat vol met nummers als Gimme Gimme Gimme, dit is toch de reden dat we deze alternatieve top 2000 gestart zijn? Om als 'serieuze' muziekliefhebbers aan te tonen dat er zo veel meer mooie muziek bestaat dan de vaak oubollige, grijsgedraaide, commerciële liedjes uit die lijst. Wanneer we dan dit soort nummers van Abba hoog in de lijst gaat opnemen, schieten we toch volledig ons doel voorbij? Je verhaal over de kwaliteit van de muziek van Abba betwist ik niet, maar zo'n verhaal kun je voor alle nummers in de top 2000 wel houden (wordt ook gedaan overigens). Het gaat er mij om dat dit soort nummers in de 'echte' top 2000 thuis horen, niet in onze onze alternatieve lijst. Maar dat is mijn mening.

Dan kun je een heleboel nummers uit de ladder gaan filteren. Wat te denken aan de grote hoeveelheid Pink Floyd, Radiohoofd, Beatles (!), Queen, Led Zep, etc.? Naar mijn mening kan zo'n alternatieve lijst prima niet-alternatieve nummers naar voren schuiven. Dat betekent wel dat mensen binnen MuMe de nummers kennelijk dusdanig goed vinden, dat ze het wel waard vinden die in de lijst te zetten.

Er zijn anders ook genoeg liefhebbers van alternatieve muziek die Abba goed vinden. Jammer dat mensen menen daarboven te moeten staan, omdat Abba toegankelijke muziek maakt en hits heeft gescoord.

Onze top 2000 is niet zozeer bedoeld om een zo alternatief mogelijke lijst te presenteren, maar om een lijst te maken met liedjes die WIJ leuk vinden.

Ik voel me niet daarboven staan, maar vind het gewoon frappant. Kijk eens naar de waarderingen van hun albums en plotseling vind iedereen Abba ineens hier goed. Dus ja, daar kijk ik van op. Maar ik zal het er verder niet meer over hebben, want op deze manier krijgen ze alleen maar sympathiestemmen..

Ik ken geen hele albums van Abba, maar vind Gimme... een erg leuk nummer. En waarom een scheiding tussen 'alternatief' en 'niet alternief' in deze lijst? Een combinatie is toch juist leuk? Of moet Stairway to Heaven er dan ook maar uit?

Heel simpel friek, omdat ABBA een single-band was, en dus heel veel mensen de hitjes zeer prima te verteren vinden. Een album van de Zweden is vaak net iets teveel van het goede. Het is allemaal dus heel goed te begrijpen zonder tussen-de-regels-insinuaties, omdat jíj ABBA toevallig geen leuke band vindt.
