Maar ook een favoriet van de deelnemers aan deze KO? Bij wie stond dit nummer in de top 3? Het zou interessant zijn om te weten of Blue Monday ook echt een favoriet is of dat velen, zoals ik, op dit nummer hebben gestemd bij gebrek aan beter.

Snelle KO, maar hij had nog veel sneller gekund met zo'n winnaar.

Het was leuk zo lang als het duurde - maar waarom moet ik nu aan een soufflé denken?

Dus op naar de the Gathering KO (ik heb Casartelli inmiddels een PM gestuurd).

En deze is in goede orde ontvangen.

Ik zit tot eind morgenmiddag in het buitenland, maar de KO staat klaar. Zo lang kunnen we wel even wachten, denk ik?

Ik vind Blue Monday wel een goed nummer, maar op PCL alleen al staan 2 betere nummers wat mij betreft: Ultraviolence en vooral Your Silent Face.

Op zich valt met die uitslag te leven, al was het natuurlijk wel een beetje appels met peren vergelijken.

Appels: albumtracks die nooit als aparte entiteit zijn gereleasd; en die je dus eigenlijk liever beluistert in de oorspronkelijke context

Peren: 12"s - sommigen met specifieke single-versies (7"), andere weer bijzondere versies die in allerlei vormen zijn gereleasd.

Vervolgens verschenen ze wel (al dan niet gewijzigd op een aantal verzamelaars - daar zijn er heel wat van (Substance, Singles, Best of, Rest of, Retro) en dan nog de dual disk collector's edition. Misschien zou ik een meer pool-gerichte indeling hebben gemaakt, maar op zich is dat niet zo relevant, want mijn voorkeur wijzigt ook van moment tot moment en hangt ook van het tijdstip van de dag en stemming af. Imo is PCL het scharnieralbum en zijn (bijna) alle 12"s worth-having, in wat voor vorm dan ook.

Kan er zo 10 opnoemen die beter zijn dan BM........

Ik vind Blue Monday een uitstekend nummer, maar het behoort nmm niet tot het beste werk. Maar mss heb ik het nummer ook wat te vaak gehoord. Ik heb er op gestemd vanwege gebrek aan beter.

Als ik jullie reacties zo lees, dan denk ik dat voor velen wellicht hetzelfde geldt. Zo'n KO leidt dan ook niet zozeer tot de vaststelling van wat volgens de liefhebber de meest favoriete/beste track is, maar het geeft veel meer de communis opinio weer van wat men gemiddeld genomen als een goede track ziet. Maar ik weet het, dit is inherent aan een KO.



Ook dat is inherent aan een KO. Die context moet je gewoon meenemen bij je beoordeling
