Vanavond gaat waarschijnlijk de beslissing vallen welk album winnaar gaat worden in de strijd om de Classic 80's titel.
Voor mij was de grote verrassing in de zesde ronde dat Closer van Joy Division eruit is gevlogen. Dit album domineerde steeds in de ronden ervoor de battles waar het in voorkwam, maar kwam verrassend genoeg een teenlengte tekort in de vorige ronde.
We gaan nu de zevende ronde spelen met de vijf albums die nog in de strijd zijn, waarna de finale gespeeld gaat worden tussen de albums die op de eerste en tweede plaats zullen eindigen.
De regels voor de zevende ronde en de finale:
1. In de zevende ronde geef je 1 stem op dezelfde wijze als je bij de vorige ronden gedaan hebt (+je erbij).
2. Het album dat als eerste 8 punten heeft krijgt een knikkende smiley (). Vervolgens spelen we door tot een tweede album ook 8 punten heeft en ook een knikkende smiley krijgt ( ).
3. Van de albums die op de plaatsen drie, vier en vijf terecht komen moeten we nu helaas echt afscheid nemen

4. Direct na afloop van de zevende ronde, spelen we de grote finale tussen de nummers 1 en 2 uit de zevende ronde.
5. In de grote finale geeft je weer 1 stem op dezelfde wijze als je bij de vorige ronden gedaan hebt (+je erbij). Het album dat als eerste 10 stemmen heeft gehaald is de uiteindelijke grote winnaar!
6. Iedereen heel veel plezier met het slot van classic 80'albums!

Van mij mag The Sound winnen en The Smiths mogen op twee ... of Metallica.
Geen enkele van deze 5 albums zijn platen die in mijn 80s top 10 zouden eindigen.
From the Lion's Mouth misschien wel in de top 20.
Simple Minds vind ik wat hoog gegrepen voor deze ronde.
U2 en Metallica horen er misschien wel bij, al ben ik zelf niet
zo'n fan van The Joshua Tree (liever The Unforgettable Fire).
