Een plaats verlies voor the Doors dit jaar. Het leek er in eerste instantie helemaal niet in te zitten dat Riders on the Storm weer top 5 zou scoren. Maar hoe meer lijstjes er binnen kwamen, hoe beter dat ie het ging doen. Typisch zo'n nummer ook dat niet superhoog scoort in aantal top 5 noteringen (10e plaats) en laag in aantal bottom 5 noteringen (27e plaats). Hij heeft zelfs even op 4 gestaan maar meer heeft er echt niet ingezeten. Op het einde dreigde ie zelfs even weg te zakken maar een fikse eindsprint bracht Morrison en zijn mannen weer terug in de top 5.

Als Decades niet meedoet in de finale dan kun je wel op je vingers natellen dat Love Will Tear Us Apart het hoogst scoort van de wel aanwezige Joy Division nummers, in het andere geval wil er nog wel eens concurrentie zijn. En dit jaar is het dus niet anders. De start was nog even stroef maar het was al heel snel duidelijk dat Joy Division aanspraak ging maken op een top 5 notering. Sterker nog, op een gegeven moment deed ie het zo goed dat zelfs de 3e plaats even in zicht kwam maar dat was toch te hoog gegrepen.
Is hier ook weer sprake van een allemansvriend, een nummer dat over het algemeen niemand echt slecht vind maar ook niemand echt tot de beste rekent. Je zou het bijna zeggen als je de cijfers bekijkt, slechts 1 persoon die 'm op 1 heeft gezet en slechts 2 laatste plaatsen. En ook het aantal top 5 is nog lager dan van the Doors hierboven en het aantal bottom 5 noteringen vergelijkbaar. Echter 4 keer in de finale en 4 keer top 10 gescoord, dat is toch ook wel een compliment waard.

Hmm, 2 oud-winnaars die het weer kunnen gaan worden.
