Een gemengd resultaat dit jaar. De eerste twee zijn erg goede platen, daarna volgen vier tot zes heel behoorlijke platen, tenslotte twee die echt niet in een favoriete top 10 thuishoren, dus onder protest!

1. Crash Test Dummies - Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm

Geweldige unieke plaat die nergens op lijkt, met originele tekst, bijzondere, diepe stem en mooie melodie. En het enige liedje dat ik zelf kan zingen zonder dat het al te vals wordt .

2. Bruce Springsteen - Streets of Philadelphia

Ontroerende tekst bij on-Springsteeniaanse muzikale begeleiding.

3. Cranberries - Zombie

Was ooit erg sterk, maar de zombie boezemt nu geen angst meer in.

4. Stiltskin - Inside

Opmerkelijk intro (bekend van de TROS), daarna prima rocksong van band waarvan de zanger vervolgens het laatste album ooit van Genesis (!) opnam.

5. Prodigy - No Good (Start the Dance)

Lekker stevige dance, van voordat de band de 'lelijke' kant opging.

8. Youssou N'Dour & Neneh Cherry - 7 Seconds
9. Whigfield - Saturday Night
10. Toni Braxton - Breathe Again

Prima jaar, heb uiteindelijk nog moeten schrappen, Reel 2 Real (jeugdsentiment!) en Grid (leuke ontdekking) hebben het net niet gehaald...

1. Stiltskin - Inside
- Prachtig nummer, opvallend intro (heb ik nog eens gebruikt voor de ID contest), mooi post-grunge werk daarna. Verder nooit meer iets van deze band gehoord, de zanger nam idd later nog Genesis (voor even) op sleeptouw...

2. Prodigy - No Good (Start the Dance)
- Van het enige goede album van The Prodigy (hoewel nog lang niet het beste nummer daarvan). Baanbrekende combinatie van dance en punk, die later nog in vele vormen voor zou komen.

3. Crash Test Dummies - Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
- Mooie eendagsvlieg, juist door de stem van de zanger...

4. Laura Pausini - La Solitudine
- Jeugdsentiment voor mij, mevrouw Pausini werd regelmatig gedraaid in het ouderlijk huize Tit. Meeste nummers ben ik wel beu, maar dit blijft gewoon mooi...

5. Youssou N'Dour & Neneh Cherry - 7 Seconds
- Verantwoordelijk voor een prachtige Mama Appelsap (Kut Koeman, Koeman gooit alle dingen om)... Mooi voorbeeld van hoe hitparadepop toch ook kwalitatief goed kan zijn...

6. Bruce Springsteen - Streets of Philadelphia
- Veel Bruce-fans zijn niet zo weg van dit nummer, maar ik vind het gewoon een goed nummer, al is het zeker niet zn beste...

7. Corona - Rhythm of the Night
- Het aanbod van de eurohouse is dit jaar iets magerder dan voorgaande jaren, vandaar slechts een 7e & 8e positie. Dit is gewoon een lekker zomers nummertje, dat het nog steeds goed doet.

8. 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor - Never Alone
- Het toeval wil dat ik ze een tijdje terug op uitnodiging nog eens live heb mogen meemaken. Echt veel was het niet meer, maar het publiek ging er wel op los... Dit is na Dreams hun beste nummer vind ik.

9. Enigma - Return to Innocence
- Enigszins kitscherig, maar wel mooi nummer, al heeft het veelvuldig draaien door mijn broertje het nummer wel bijna de das om gedaan.

10. Big Mountain - Baby I Love Your Way
- Ik ben meestal niet zo van de covers, maar deze lekker luchtige reggae-versie vind ik stiekem leuker dan het origineel van Peter Frampton.

Verrassende winnaar, ik had the Cranberries of Youssou N'Dour & Neneh Cherry op nr.1 verwacht.

De dansers hebben een pact gesloten ...

Ik had hem ook over het hoofd gezien in mijn voorspelling.

Op naar 1995. Een jaar met toch wat sterke nummers vind ik.

Ik had hem al vanaf het prille begin in m'n hoofd als winnaar

Wederom mijn nummer 2 als winnaar, prima

En wederom een danceplaat als winnaar, maak me gek!

De 3 nummers die ik bovenaan verwachte staan daar ook, ik had wel verwacht dat the Cranberries zouden winnen voor the Prodigy.

Mooie top 3, nummers 1 en 2 omgewisseld uit m'n eigen top 10 en Zombie had ik in mijn top 10 op 4 staan.

4e plaats van Enigma verrast me wel.

Op naar 1995

Cranberries is teveel love/hate, denk ik. Ik hoopte ook op The Prodigy, maar vreesde voor Youssou en Neneh.

Niet bang zijn van zwarte man ... en melkchocoladen schoonheid.
