Met dat laatste ben ik het helemaal eens hoor, maar dat Cortez, Like a Hurricane etc het zo moeilijk hebben gehad en deze in deze fase nog hoge ogen weet te gooien verbaast me. David Bowie hoef vooralsnog ook niet op sympathy votes te rekenen, dus dat lijkt me sterk. Heeft R.E.M. al nummers door eigenlijk? Ook wel een grote naam die het altijd moeilijk heeft terwijl ik me dus anderzijds blijf verbazen over Pixies en Smashing Pumpkins die wel een hoop support hebben.

Helemaal mee eens, ik heb ook veel meer met de punkrock periode van the Stranglers, No More Heroes en Something Better Change vind ik ook oneindig veel beter dan dit melige meezingertje.
Golden Brown is volgens mij wel de koning van de herkansingen, als ik me goed herinner zat ie vorig jaar overleefde ie vorig jaar ook een paar rondes dmv herkansingen (en miste de finale ternauwernood in een herkansing) en ook nu weeral voor de 2e maal op rij in een herkansing.

R.E.M. heeft nog geen nummers door, Drive is hun laatste mogelijkheid.
Wat betreft de Pixies snap ik de support wel op deze site - zeker omdat het hun sterkste nummers betreft, alleen vind ik zelf dat Here Comes My Man wel wat overdreven hoog staat....wat betreft Smashing Pumpkins ben ik meer verbaasd over de support.
Ik ben zelf een hele grote Smashing Pumpkins fan dus vd ene kant ben ik daar wel blij mee, vd andere kant zijn het helaas de bekende hitjes en die vind ik eigenlijk wat minder, zo'n 1979 en Tonight Tonight.....daar had ik liever Thru the Eyes of Ruby, Silverfuck of Siva gezien om maar eens wat te noemen. Tonight Tonight zit nu in een voor mij hele sterke ladder en ik vrees dat ondanks dat ik fan ben ik daar geen punten meer voor over ga hebben, dat was met een ander Pumpkins nummer absoluut anders geweest (die hadden zonder moeite 4pt gescoord)

Allebei wereldnummers. The Stranglers gaan overigens definitief weer herkansen, net als in de vorige ronde. Gelukkig maar anders was ik nu heel boos geweest.

Golden Brown is voor mij het allermooiste nummer uit de jaren '80.
De rest van het werk van The Stranglers is ook zeker niet verkeerd maar haalt het bij lange na niet bij dit absolute meesterwerk.

Niet de eerste keer de laatste ladders dat er een persoonlijke favoriet op het nippertje net buiten de boot valt.
Gelukkig is het wel het nummer van SM dat ik nog wel kan pruimen en niet één van die andere...

Wat betreft de Pixies snap ik de support wel op deze site - zeker omdat het hun sterkste nummers betreft, alleen vind ik zelf dat Here Comes My Man wel wat overdreven hoog staat....wat betreft Smashing Pumpkins ben ik meer verbaasd over de support.
Ik weet niet waar Here Comes Your Man staat, maar voor mij hoort die wel in de top 100 thuis. Mijn favoriete Pixies-nummer en Pixies reken ik wel tot mijn favoriete bands.
