Cocteau Twins is geen band die me met welk nummer dan ook omverblaast. Muziek van Cocteau Twins is over het algemeen rustig en luister makkelijk weg. Ik kom zoals wel vaker erg negatief over. Dat is eigenlijk helemaal niet de bedoeling

Stoepkrijt verwoordt het volgens mij echt heel goed.
Een gelijkaardig antwoord kwam in me op toen ik Poeha las.
Cocteau Twins muziek is erg poëtisch, wil je omringen met klank en kleur.
In die zin is het geen echte rockmuziek, al is de new wave connectie duidelijk aanwezig.
Een soort ambient versie van The Cure. Op Victorialand dat zonder bassist Simon Raymonde
tot stand kwam (die was bezig met het tweede album van This Mortal Coil) past die omschrijving wel.
Geen bas of drums, maar Guthrie weeft esoterische klanken rond Frasers vocale hoogstandjes.
Een album dat op 45 toeren draait. Een opvallend kenmerk dat me steeds zal bijblijven.
